I tell everyone that spinning is the absolute BEST thing I do for myself!  I absolutely love it!  I’ve lost about 10lbs since I started spinning twice a week in May.  It’s awesome!  Believe it or not, after a class or two (or four!) the seat doesn’t really bother you any more.

I agree… the seat won’t bother you so much after just a few classes… to tell you the truth, I have a love, HATE relationship with spin class..  I go because I know it’s such a great workout… but I feel like I’m going to die by the end of the class, LOL… Best of luck with the weight loss- but 15 lbs is kind of a lot to lose by mid october.. you’ll need to do some diet modification as well as cardio, like spin 🙂

I LOVE spin class!  Before the Bar, I was doing it twice a week every week and I really slimmed down quickly (like 5 pounds in the first two weeks).  If the seat hurts, then I would recommend buying a gel seat (which they sell at Target).  I just wear my road bicycle shorts, which have padding in them.  I think the padding definitely make the class much more enjoyable.

I just signed up for a new gym this past weekend and took a spinning class yesterday! My knees are killing me today. I thought I wasn’t going to make it, but the instructor was super supportive.I’m hoping to go to a class about once a week and run and take other classes (zumba!) the rest of the week.

As my friend who took the class with me said- it’s really more mental work getting over the giving up point. We can do it!
