I never thought looking for a Bridal gown would be so challenging!
I thought I knew the exact dress that I wanted. Turns out that it is NOT easy to find a sample of and it is quite a bit out of my price range. So now that I have begun to look all I can say is WOW! There are thousands of gorgeous gowns out there!
I found this dress by Stella York (5835) and it is well in my budget. Although I want my bridal gown to be simple and timeless, I want it to be special and not TOO plain (as I am known for being ‘plain jane’ as my mom calls me).
Is it TOO simple?
What could I do to dress it up? Belts, jewelry, veil etc? Any ideas?
The jewelry that this model has on is something I don’t think I could ever pull off. I have a small face and frame and find it can be difficult to pull off chunky or big jewelry.
I have yet to try this on but I’m hoping to have an idea of what the overall look might be like before trying it on.
Thanks so much!!

@sevash: I don’t think this dress is too plain. I love the ruffles. I def think a blingy belt would help sass it up a bit. I would say some small blingy jewelry would look great with it too. I can’t pull off the chunky or huge jewelry either. I hope this dress works out for you. Have fun shopping! 🙂

I would put a belt with a flower on it but it looks lovely enough on its own!

This is beautiful. I love it!
I would put a sparkly belt on it, and maybe a sparkly headband. Then you could get by with a thin diamond bracelet, studs, and a diamond pendant necklace. 🙂 Think.. sparkly!

I would do a sparkly belt as PPs suggested, no necklace, some drop earrings that fit your face, a simple blingy bracelet and then play with hairstyles that also fit your face.

@sevash: Can I ask how much you paid for this dress? And If you have pictures of you in it? Im looking at this dres myself but cant find any real life pics with brides in it.

I don’t think it is too simple. Maybe add a sash to it, a colored sash, or a blingy sash just to add some more detail. But the ruffles are gorgeous it definitely isnt too simple

@sevash: OMG! I saw the dress in a magazine and completely love it! A lovely necklase and the right veil will make it look stunning. I already have my dress, which I also love, but if I could have two weddings I would get that one as well!

@sevash: I tried this dress on the first time I went shopping, it felt amazing, super comfortable, light weight, really cute and the girl at the bridal shopp I went to suggested a bustle on the same side as the fringe. Super cute but I knew it wasnt my dress .. I was looking for something more simple (found my dress now!) I had a belt on with this dress tho and it was amazing with a cathedral veil looked stunningggg!! Great price too!

@littlemisschef18: Hi! I do have photos of myself in this dress in another post.
I think I found the dress!
I have to be honest. I was disappointed in the quality. In person, it is nothing like it is in this photo. But definitely try it on. The best price I found was $815.
@leannteresa1: Congratulations on finding your dress! After this one, I ended up finding mine too! I couldn’t put my finger on why I didn’t end up liking this one, until I stepped into the one I really loved.

I just bought this dress and it’s not plain at all. It’s actually a really fun dress. I wanted a simple lace a-line and ended up with this, lol. I added a belt and a martina liana lace jacket and am haooy with how it turned out.

I think you need to ask yourself if YOU think it is too plain. You are the one wearing it! If you are happy with it then why worry about what others think?
