don’t rely on email.  call the florist you want to meet with on the 18th and set up an appointment.

i’ve learned one thing.  people do not read.

My florist is a bit of a flake and even though my wedding is on Saturday, and even though I’ve had 3 different meetings with her (two phone and one in person) I’m still not sure what flowers I’m getting. While flowers aren’t huge on my priority list this is still a bit unsettling.

I also want to point out that my photographer is a flake via email, but super great and on top of things on the phone. I suggest giving the florist a call to confirm your meeting. If you are able to meet with her but get a sense that she’s a flake all around and not just via email, I’d say move on.

@thumpurr:  Have you tried Whole Foods (there’s one in Reno, idk if that’s close enough for you)? They will do wedding flowers- they did mine! They do all of the arranging etc. and all at wholesale prices.

@thumpurr:  wowww I can’t believe I didn’t put that in my post! They’re not the best quality because they’re downloaded from my photographer’s preview on his blog, but here’s what I’ve got! He didn’t put a lot of details in the preview because that’s not really what he’s all about, but I’ll do my best =)

I think they did a really great job (it was exactly what I asked for); they did all of the flowers for my entire wedding:

This all I have for the reception, I just had them do small arrangements for the tables to go with my DIY vase centerpieces:

And the rest:

@thumpurr:  I agree with the PP, call the florist. If they are still seemingly flakey then move on. Emails are sometimes unreliable despite how widely used they are.

I almost didn’t book our baker because he would either ignore my emails or answer them about a week later. I decided to taste test and discuss with them and learned that they were an older couple and not too hip with the email technology, that phones worked best. They were amazing, the cake was amazing and I learned a little something.

Here’s hoping you find the right florist!
