Our invitations have been out for a couple weeks and we've gotten a few RSVPs back, but are still waiting on the majority. It's a little frustrating b/c it's a destination wedding and I know that people have already made up their minds whether or not they are coming, so I don't understand the hold-up in sending in that reply card. Get on it people!
We're starting to get gifts too!! We've gotten 3 so far!! It's SO exciting. (We're using them too - shhhh!). I've spent the last 12 months feeling like July 2009 will never get here...and now it's finally feeling close. I still have so so so much to do before the wedding, which is mildly terrifying. Crunch time!
Wow, presents already?!
I got a check in the mail last week....but ours is in 5 weeks. Crazy! I didn't even think that maybe stuff would start getting delivered to my house, haha.
We received our first gifts I believe in end of December or early January and our wedding isn't even until September 
. They were all from my FMIL. She wanted to make sure she got us what we wanted.
Planning is going great for me! I had a bit of a break since all the vendors were picked and all the major details were out of the way. Now it's time to work. I will start writing up my invites this week...

I started to recieve gifts like two weeks after our invitations went out. They were gifts from people that rsvp'd NO. However, we have recieved A LOT of gifts from some other people that are coming to the wedding. It is so crazy. I already feel behind on our thank you notes, because I hadn't ordered our wedding thank you notes yet. Thankfully those just arrived.
@<font size="2" color="#81a026">missomally</font> I went to a wedding in Jackson Hole a couple of years ago. I remember we were late getting our rsvps back because we couldn't figure out if we could afford for both of us to go. Once it was decided that I was going with him (FI was a groomsman), I wanted to wait and see if any of the other significant others were going as well. It turned out that it was me and the boys hanging at the cowboy bar! I'm sure they are just trying to figure out flights and stuff!
@ yogigal - Thanks! How was that Jackson Hole wedding? Did you have fun? Any cool ideas that couple did that we could use, or any suggestions on things to do, places to see, etc. I'm madly in love with the area, but don't know alot of people that have gotten married there.
Since we're having such a small wedding (50-60 people tops), we pretty much already know everyone that's coming. Most people have had flights and rooms booked for months. Basically the RSVPs are about getting entree choices for our caterer and an idea of how many people to expect at the brunch the next day. Its not a big deal that we get them right away, but it's SO much fun pulling them out of the mailbox every night after work and getting excited about the wedding.
I just sent out our invites and haven ot received any RSVP's yet. Hopeing to get some soon.
A weird thing is - a few months ago, we received a wedding gift from my FI's Mom's Friend - someone we weren't planning to invite (since my soon to be mother in law did not have her on her guest list). We both felt really weird about getting a gift from somone not invited to the wedding. I asked my FI about this person and why she wasn't on the guest list given to me by his Mom. He said that they had a falling-out a few years ago (this was between their husbands not them) so he thought thats why she wasn't invited. I just felt really weird about accepting it....

Our RSVPs are still coming in. We got our first gift in the mail Friday and I had my first of two showers Sunday! It's starting to feel so real!
FI and I are already started on thank you cards for the shower gifts. I'm trying to stay on top of it while I can!
@doctorgirl ... don't feel bad. I already broke out the Martha Stewart pom throw I got at my shower yesterday. It's dark green and everyone was teasing me about it looking like broccoli, so I wanted to show them what it looks like unrolled. I've stashed everything else in my parent's basement to keep me from being tempted to use them before the wedding!

I had a shower this weekend and was overwhelmed with the generosity of friends and family! Luckily, many of the gifts were too big to take back on the plane with us, so we had to leave them at FMIL's house. We did however, manage to jam in our new Le Crueset baking dish. That thing was heavy, but we wanted to try it out STAT!

Hello July ladies! How's the planning going? We just got our invitations out, and have gotten 2 (count'em, 2) RSVP cards back. So fun!
And, we've started to get wedding presents! Though we probably shouldn't use them yet, we toasted with a beautiful set of wine glasses we received!
