I’m starting to FREAK out. My wedding is a month away and I’m having nightmares and panic attacks. I get very anxiety stricken when I have any type of party and I’m worried that on the day of my wedding I’ll be an emotional wreck. I get stressed out just wondering if people are having fun – seriously, I’m nuts! Do you think I should talk to a doctor about getting some medication? I think it might calm my nerves for the wedding but, on the other hand, I’m worried I’ll be less “present” and that it will make me sleepy. What do you all think? Anyone else in the same boat or already gone through it?

I take daily anxiety/depression meds but I get super anxious about parties, so I usually take a klonopin beforehand. It calms me down but (at least for me) doesn’t make me too out of it. I don’t know if a doctor will give you a prescription for that or not since it’s a drug that can be used recreationally.

It wouldn’t hurt to talk to your doctor about taking something. There are many anti-anxiety drugs that aren’t too risky and could help you out.
Or… maybe sign up for a meditation class or something? I know you are probably super busy, but yoga or meditation once a week may give you some relief and help give you tips to keep you calm on your wedding day.
