I was there Tuesday (slept in Canmore Monday night, everything was normal then!) Storm came in big on Tuesday, my truck got struck by lightning! And apparently we went home just in time because now the highway we drove home on is closed!!

Stay safe Alberta friends, thinking of you!!

My uncle lives in the evacuated zone in downtown Calgary.  He is safe and his home is high enough up on the hill from the river that he thinks his home should stay dry, thankfully!

Hope everyone is staying safe there! The town where my college is located flooded while I was a student there — it was devastating to see how much the families lost whose homes were affected. Hope all the Bees in that area are safe!

@honie309:  So sorry to hear that. My home state (in the US), Colorado, has areas that are in a state of emergency as well. But we have the exact opposite problem. There are over 8 wildfires actively burning. So thousands of acres and hundreds of homes have burned. Natural disasters can cause such tragic situations 🙁

3 Confirmed dead, such a bad flood.  I’ve been keeping track, friends living there have been evacuated in Calgary and High River.  Hope all bees in the area are safe and away from the terror.

Calgarians stay safe as you’re allowed back in if you were evacuated!  I hope the cleanup goes smoothly.

How are things going in Canmore?

My in-laws all live in Calgary and we’re so worried.  As of late today they’re back home with limited power and water, but at least they’re safe and sound and their homes are repairable.

Good thoughts from the east for safety for all affected Albertans!  Stay safe everyone.

I’m in Calgary. Our home is pretty high up so we are safe and dry. It’s pretty devastating to see the state of our city though 🙁

I hope those with extensive flooding also have sewer backups!  It’s a bigger mess, but then at least insurance will kick in.  Insurance can be stupid at times.

This is so sad 🙁

I’m at work today and I’m shocked by some of the stories! My company is letting some people go who have been unable to meet deadlines due to taking time off because of the flood.

I heard about the insurance thing too… it’s heartbreaking!
