Yep, we're watching! My husband is hosting a group of students watching it on campus, I'm at home with the cat :)
Watching? Yes. Thoughts (so far)? Seems to be the same ol' pep talk each time. And I don't mean this as a political jab of any sort....they just always sound the same over and over again!
Although it may not mean a lot in practical terms, I do like that people of different parties are interdispersed. It may only be symbolic, but it's still something to strive for (cooperation among parties). I don't know how we'll accomplish anything if compromises can't be made.
Yep. I am particularly enjoying watching Vice President Biden and Speaker Boehner's facial expressions. I would NOT want to be the guy who's on camera and not doing or saying anything for the entire duration of the speech.
It's actually interesting watching the audience when they're not sitting as they normally do - split by party. I know the whole thing may have been a bit hokey (the "dates" or whatever they called it), but it actually makes Congress look more unified. Sorry, I love politics!
If they would hold all applause till the end, this thing would be considerably shorter!
Actually if both parties could work together for the next two years to accomplish this stuff, it would be great for the US (and a miracle...).
