Any brides out there that went with a station? (i.e. a carving station, stir-fry station, etc.) Were you able to taste or see an example of what would be available at your station?
Our wedding planner/event coordinator sent us an email confirming our tasting appointment, but included an addendum that this would only include the food in our buffet & NOT our omelette or waffle station. (we’re having a brunch reception) I was rather surprised by this since the two stations really make up half of our reception menu & we won’t know what is available for omelette or waffle topping/fillings. Am I being too bridezilla to want to at least see what will be offered & taste it?

We’re having a mexican station and an asian station (and thats it for dinner)… so yes our tasting will include all the stuff for the stations. We have our choice of a few different entrees and sides for each station so we’ll get to try everything and decide what we want.

Wanting to know and taste test what you are serving your guests (and yourself) is NOT being a bridezilla!!! It is making sure you get what you pay for and that you don’t pay for something you don’t want/like. I would demand a taste test of EVERYTHING immediately. There is no reason that they shouldn’t be able to prepare that for you. If you haven’t already signed a contract, don’t until they give you what you want. If you have, then I would suggest talking to a manager of the location and explaining to them that you are not paying for food that is sight-unseen and untested.

I don’t think you are out of line for wanting to taste what you are going to be paying for. If it were me, I would ask that they provide the tasting with all of the items you are going to be having and paying for, and if they won’t accommodate you, I would seriously consider checking out another caterer that will accommodate you.
