Hi Ladies! My boyfriend and I fell in love with this Vera Wang ring but I keep reading/hearing such awful things about this collection! Anything from the stones falling out easily, to getting the diamonds (or even entire rings) replaced with junk when they are returned from getting work done. The idea of having to send my ring out (for weeks….and to China!) scares me and I don’t want to be without my ring. This ring is so gorgeous and much cheaper than we originally expected to pay, and we just love it. But it makes me nervous. Should I stay away from the VW Love Collection? Will I come across losing stones with any ring that has several small stones? Should I just go with a 3-stone ring (without pave, or halo effects) to reduce this risk? Thanks!

MeredithRose: What a pretty ring! I’ve haD No problems with my VW. We actually bought it off ebay last year and it’s perfect still. I’ve heard all the issues happen after resizing. If I were you, I’d purchase additional insurance through a company and if you need repairs, take it to an actual jeweler vs. Zales or whatever company you buy from. I posted a picture of my ring for your viewing pleasure lol.

I’ve read too many horror stories to ever buy a ring from mall jeweler. Their prices are usually really inflated too. Before you commit, I’d take a look at vendors like James Allen, Blue Nile, Whiteflash, Brian Gavin, or Good Old Gold. In my experience, the quality is higher with a lower comparable price.

cmbr: exactly why we went ebay. Brand new ring with all the certs for $1,000 less than retail. You have to do research with any company you choose to buy from. You never know what you’ll find at other reputable stores. Heck, it might even be more cost effective to have a ring custom made for you.

I would suggest looking at local jewelers instead of large chain stores as well because you can potentially get more for bang for your buck, and also any repairs that might need done would be done in house instead of being sent to Lord knows where.
If you do decide to get the ring you’re looking at, I would agree with MeredithRose and purchase outside insurance so if it needs to be repaired it can be done locally

I really love the vera wang love collection..i tried on quite a few..we ended up going with Neil Lane at kay but I had heard the same things about their rings too.I havnt had any problems what so ever with mine. I will be having a local jeweler do any maintenance necessary to my rings since we have it insured through our homeowners anyway so I dont care about the jewelry store coverage. If you love it then go for it!

I know you specifically asked about the E-rings but one of my wedding bands is from the VW love collecton and I’ve had no issues with it what so ever. I’ve had it and worn it for about 2 years now. I love it and it was a great experience picking it out and purchasing it through Zales and was much less expensive than anywhere else I priced similar bands.
(it’s the thinner bottom band btw)

I wouldn’t, and would recommend that you strongly think about this before pulling the trigger and getting the ring. There have been wayyyyy too many stories I have heard of rings gone horribly bad from Kays, Zales, etc. Do a quick search on here and you will see for yourself.
I actually have an acquaintence who looked down at her ring one day, and the center stone was gone from the ring. She freaked out, and of course, never found the diamond. Just the thought makes me shudder. Her ring was from Kay.

I am currently torn between a Vera ring from Zales and ring from a local store. I immediately fell in love with the Vera but am so nervous because of the horror stories (but I do know that no one really takes the time to go all over the web sharing their good reviews usually). I know this post was 5 months ago but I was curious whether yall went with zales or not??
