After a crazy hot dry summer, all this rain is crazy!  My area is good for now (the drive home tonight isn’t going to be too fun), but there are some areas that are definitely hard hit.

We are going to Colorado for our honeymoon starting Sept 21st! Flying into Denver then swinging thru Boulder and driving the Peak to Peak Trail to Estes Park and staying for three nights then driving Trail Ridge Rd then down to Aspen. I’m trying to follow what’s going on but does anyone have anything I should know? I love colorado and it makes me sad that this is happening!

@KJA00:  Parts of Boulder are flooded, Lyons (on the way to Estes Park) is flooded and their water supply is contaminated, the highway to Estes Park is closed and parts of Estes Park are flooded.

Hopefully it will start to taper off and mudslides won’t start.  Fingers crossed for your honeymoon (I’m sure it will be fine)!

If it helps any we’re getting married in an area that had major flash flooding in August and is under a flash flood warning right now and I’m not too worried.

Here’s a live blog to follow what’s going on:

We’re here in Fort Collins and the closures are insane with all of the floods this year. I was thinking hopeful thoughts for all involved in the floods and because the highway, roads through Estes Park, everything is closed. I couldn’t help but worry about weddings in this area for this weekend. Hope everyone is doing okay. It’s a Friday the 13’th for sure.

Oh dear I had no idea! (We don’t have live TV for news and I am in school 4/5 days in the work week cut off from civilization in computer labs and lecture halls). I used to live in Montrose on the Western Slope. I hope everyone out on the Eastern Slope is safe and alright!!! Thoughts and prayers coming your way!! <3

ETA: Is that normal as far as rain goes out there? On the side of the rockies I was on it *never* rained in the summer. It was far too hot and maybe a storm or two would blow in from the south but most of the time it wouldn’t even hit the ground. I was there for 3 years. 🙁 That makes me so sad!! CO is so beautiful!
