    Hi ladies,

I am curious: how do you feel about staycations that include the following:

    1. sleeping in

    2. watching tons of tv

    3. catching up on reading/homework

    4. doing housework

    5. cooking

    6. learning to sew with a new sewing machine.

    7. taking walks

    8. shopping

    9. drs apts

    10. Eating :D

I am wondering because that is how I have spent an entire week of PTO. I live in one of the greatest cities in the world and have not lived here long and did not even do any sight seeing or go to any of the amazing museums. I just lounged. I guess that there are so many amazing things going on in the city I feel bad for not taking this time to do something cool.

Keep in mind that I get 4 full weeks of PTO a year, so I still have 3 weeks left that I can go somewhere or do something (if I want).

Do you think I wasted a week of PTO? I have barely left the house and really enjoyed it. But today I was wondering if I am just being crazy lazy and I should have done something exciting...

What do you ladies think!? Honest opinions...

I think that's fine, but I wouldn't have WANTED to go to dr appts, housework or homework, but you have to do all that anyway. I get restless without going to work for a while, even though I live in NYC!

Not wasted, especially if your body/mind needed time to recoop. I think that is a find staycation, but I agree with readheadem, I would have rather hung out with friends or seen a concert than gone to the dr.

That sounds fantastic! I love the time off when I can catch up on everything, feel productive and also do some serious lounging!

If you enjoyed it, then how could it be a waste?

I think we all need time to just relax sometimes and catch up on our regular lives.  Vacations are awesome, but they can be tiring to plan, pack for, and unpack for.  You need down time!  I think staycations can be great.

I think everyone needs time to relax and catch up with "doing nothing". As long as you enjoyed it that's time well spend.

MENTAL HEALTH days are a must!  I love sleeping in then getting caught up on the stuff that stresses me out during the week.  No way do I see those as a waste of time!

mental health days! i think it's fine if that's what your body needed!

doing "nothing" must be new to you since you needed opinions on it....so im just guessing you must always be busy. it's really good to take breaks and rest!

i want four weeks of PTO! that's amazing! how long have you been w/your company? my place does the same, but after our 5th yr anniversary.

you ladies are amazing! thanks for the nice words. I guess I have been feeling a bit guilty...

@MrsTCB:  yes, I am a pretty busy person. I work full time, have a two hour a day commute, exercise regularly, am a full time grad student and have a 31 year old child...ooopps I meant husband. LOL
