The bf and I got into an argument a month or so ago where he told me that he doesn’t want to get engaged any time in the near future. We’ve been together for 4 and a half years (living together for 3 or so) and plan on getting married in the next few years. He never gave me a reason but I know it isn’t a commitment issue so I’ve been trying to back off a lot lately even though I’m still very upset about it.
In doing so, I’ve started spending quite a bit of time (and money) on makeup. I can easily spend an hour or two (..even three) browsing different makeup brands, reading or watching reviews on YouTube, comparing products and prices, making lists, building my collection, and coming up with a design to make my spare/junk room partially into a beauty room. It’s an expensive hobby, but that’s what’s working for me right now.
Has any other waiting bees developed sudden hobbies or pass times due to dealing with engagement rejection? What do you do to stay patient?

I wouldnt say sudden but I joined and all girls racing team (yes cars). I love it cause I get to wrench on cars and it gets my mind off of the waiting thing..

I took up scrapbooking THE DAY my best friend got engaged b/c I knew it would make me go bananas on Boyfriend or Best Friend lol. I also just started blogging b/c lately I feel like Im at a stand still in my life and everyone around me is sprinting (people getting engaged and married left and right, getting “grown up” jobs, moving, having babies etc).
@Midnight Sun maybe you would like following my blog? Its mainly a makeup/cosmetics blog..I just started it..let me know and Ill send you the link to it! I LOVE makeup (Im a mark. Rep and a YouTube follower as well).

I have also taken up scrapbooking! I love it, but man…its expensive. But, I do what I can to take my mind off of not being engaged yet.

I’ll be an encore bride once I come around to it again. I still lurk the boards, looking for ideas and admiring people’s weddings. (I love weddings!) But it gets me depressed sometimes, so I just post on the boards, socialize.
I took up running awhile back. I do scrapbooking. I took up clay flower making courses earlier too, hoping that I’d get good enough to do my own wedding flowers. I also sew. Burdastyle has a bunch of cool free patterns. I also play MMORPGS to pass the time. (massive multiplayer online role playing games). For a $10-20 subscription you can waste away 12 hours without knowing it! LOL
But for the no-cost hobbies…I’d say…exercise, work out. All you need is a pair of shoes. Maybe join the local tennis club even if you suck at swinging the racket. Maybe your Boyfriend or Best Friend will start finding you sexier, and get scared that you’ll stray, then he’ll propose! Hehehe (JK, really!)
