Are you good at staying within your budget? Or are you tempted to go over on some stuff?

This is a constant battle for J and I, to stay within our (relatively limited) budget, and I want reassurance that I'm not alone! :)

We have def gone over on more than a few things, I think we didn't guesstimate very well when we first set up our budget.  We have really tried to balance things out, but on some things we figured it was worth it, like the photographer was a biggie.  We gave up on that one after we saw what was out there in our original price range.

We started with a budget, and I think it was unrealistic for what we want, so I upped it. So far, so good.

well, we don't have a clear, set budget. we have a "we want to spend x amount" but if we go over it's not the end of the world. this makes going over pretty easy. luckily i'm thrifty so we don't go crazy.

I think the only thing we went over-budget on was photography.  We could've used someone within our budget, but I'm glad we spent that extra $250 for someone really great!

Hmmm we have a total budget versus and an allotted amount per item.  If I spend too much in one place, then I definitely cut back in another.  I haven't had problems staying in budget (yet lol) but I sort of knew the costs etc of everything automatically and knew how much I could reasonably expect to spend on items.

I voted food, but only because I'm paying for the photographer myself, knowing I'd be spending multiple thousands of dollars :-)

The food is where we're going to be pushed it seems... I'm not happy about that!

I wouldn't say that I was tempted to go over, but I did go over in hair and makeup. I just didn't budget for hair and makeup trials. I totally didn't think of that. Therefore, I spent WAY more on both than I expected. Oh well!

Since I am in the early stages and only researching right now I am truly hoping not to go over budget since it is limited. However, I voted for food only because that is definitely important to me and can see splurging more in that area if necessary
