I really wouldn’t reccomend it.  The save the date comes early for the sole purpose of letting people know when to book days off work/travel plans etc. but gives you time to plan out the invites.  People will understand its not the invite as it  doesn’t give enough info for them to actually attend the wedding 😛 Just give a link to your website so they can get more info on the save the date.

I wouldn’t send them together as that defeats the purpose of the save the dates. Most people will realize they are not the actual invitation, especially if you add “Formal invitation to follow” at the bottom.

I get what your Fiance is saying.. many of my family members thought our STD was the actual invitation even though ‘Formal Invitation to Follow’ was clearly written on it. Instead of it being an actual STD, your Fiance wants it to be a component of the actual invitation. I opened you board thinking..uhh. no. But now I think its totally doable! lol. We made our magnets and after we didn’t think it fit our theme very well.. so I made a whole suite and put the magnets in an envelope for our Save-The-Date Cards and put it in the pocketfold of the actual STD…so it is more like a component of the STD instead of the actual STD. And in the envelope.. it fit our theme! lol We wanted a really modern b&w theme.. here it is.

The original “STD” is first and then ..the STD it evolved into is second lol!
