Hey Bees! I was planning on not spending money on "Save the Date" but I found the most cute magnets. I think they are really practical and no one will forget the wedding date.

What do you think about it?

Thats what we did for ours! We made them ourselves though, and it only cost like $40 for 100 of them. I like the idea becuase then they can hang your invite on the fridge with them! Our announcement is hanging from ours on our fridge and our families' fridges too

I sent out magnets and I have received so many calls that they put the magnets on their fridge.   A few even took a pic and sent it to me.

I did STD magnets.  Lots of people commented on how cute the were and said the put them right on their fridge.  Since then a couple friends have done the same thing and I put theirs on my fridge.  I love the idea and it keeps reminding them whenever the eat something, to make the plans to come to the wedding!

Go for it! My cousin used an STD magnet and we still have it on our fridge two years later; it's too cute to take down!

I wonder the same thing! I used Magnets too I personally think they are cute but I guess it depends on the person getting them...like I felt weird giving them to co workers because I didnt think they would want our pic on their fridge lol these were mine

I think they're cute and I use the ones I get from other peoples weddings.  And if you're worried about budget, definately check out Vistaprint and sign up for their e-mails.  I found a 50% off coupon for magnets and got mine for ~15 cents each, which is pretty budget friendly!

I think if people want the STD on their fridge, they'll put it up with a magnet.  But I really like the tile looking ones!  And they could make great favors for the wedding too.  So I'm undecided, but cute idea!

well i selected maybe because there was no "other option" :) i like them. they're cute! i only use them for a little while though then throw them out. i don't need a std for jack and jill with their picture from 5 years ago on my fridge ya know? however those other STDs with no picture are suuuper cute and i couldn't fathom throwing them away lol

We did magnet STD's and I'm so glad we did.  Tons of people we sent them to still have them up on their fridge (and we've been married for 9 months).  It's something most people won't throw away as quickly as a card, and hopefully that means more of the people you really want at your wedding will actually "save" your date, not just forget and schedule other things on your wedding day!  You should definitely do it!

I love them!  On my fridge right now I have ours, two for upcoming weddings, and one for a wedding that already happened. Four total.  I love having a pic of my friends on the fridge that I can see every day.  I don't know that I would save a non-picture one the same way though...

I did DIY Save the Date magnets! All i had to pay for was shipping of the free business cards from Vistaprint and the actual magnet backings from Staples! We didn't do a picture just a cute design!

I think they are cute but I would not use them.  Magnets do not adhere to my stainless steel refrigerator or any of the other appliances in our kitchen so we couldn't use it even if we wanted to. :(

We also used magnets for our STDs! We of course still have ours hanging up, but we also have a few others from weddings we went to. I love to have them all on my fridge! Plus, if you have hotel accommodations in with the magnet, what better way to remind yourself to make a reservation than to hold it up on your fridge with the magnet!

    I love the idea :o)

I would definitely use them because they can't get lost once you stick them on the fridge. A postcard or something similar will lost easily. Also, very few, if any at all, people in reality match their fridge decor to match the rest of their kitchen so it shouldn't be an issue. If it bothers you that much, stick it on the side of the fridge instead of the front. As far as tossing out a picture of a couple that happens to be a year or more old makes no sense either because people don't toss out other pictures from the past. If someone is that petty, they don't need to be given the magnet/picture in the first place.

We are doing magnets, too! While I love the idea I did have a restriction of no personal photos (ours is a cartoon bride being carried by a groom). I just felt weird having non family members staring at us for months. Keep in mind we have a 300 person guest list so this might not be as much of an issue for more intimate gatherings.

Yep, love it.  I normally lose things that are loose so I probably wouldn't remember the wedding.  Plus if I did receive a saves the date, I'd probably put it on my fridge anyway with another magnet so I wouldn't forget.  So this idea is a good one to me.

I love the save the date magnets and used them for my wedding. Through vistaprint with a discount I got  175 of them for $33. I have several friends magnets on my fridge still as a nice keep sake.

I know im late on this, but ..i would love to get magnet STDs. I actually have a bunch of magnets because my fridge is the one place where we all go! I have reused magnets too, like after the even i will cut out a picture of my daughter or my mom's dog and place it on top! Totally useful!

I love this idea! Especially because people will really remember the date, if they see it nearly every day. And I have a friend who did that, and a lot of her family/friends still have theirs on their fridge, it's adorable! I think I might do magnet Thank-Yous after the wedding. :)

I say go for it. I wanted to do this initially too.

ps I think it's cheaper to make them yourself, you can put your picture into photoshop, add the text you want, print the pictures wallet size. Then at a place like office max or staples, you can buy butcher paper- style magnets (in a loong roll), and cut them to put on the picture. I think some even come precut to wallet size. Just an idea :)

    good luck!
