I think it sounds like a great idea, it's an awesome way to really personalize your invitations. I'd be worried about my hand cramping or screwing up somehow. I guess it would all depend on how many you have to do. If you think it's something you can handle with a reasonable amount of time then go for it.
Could you do a practice run? Try it on different kind of paper. Test out writing about 10 in a row and see how you feel. Then compare to a typed one. You might not want to spend too much time on STD and focus more on invites, just an idea though.
I like how it makes it personal! Definitely not [synonym for tacky] lol
We actually did something similar, but what I did was write one personal note in my handwriting and scanned it, then had it printed on each. It looks like I wrote each one but really it was just a mass scan ...
My save the dates are on my blog at http://crosscountrywed.blogspot.com
i don't think that's tacky at all! I think that's a great idea - just really time-consuming :P
If you got the time and energy, why not? :)
GaBGal, That is super cute! I think I am going to do a test run, just to make sure. I've only got aboud 50 to make, and they won't be saying too much..Just save the date, we're tying the knot etc etc
But at least my worries are non-founded!
Thanks y'all!

Hi Hive! I have a quick question about STD's (lulz).
We have a really awesome border, and a really awesome stamp to use for our embossing. I wanted to hand write them (I've been working really hard on my handwriting) so they feel more personal.
Would doing that be [insert synonym for tacky here]? We were thinking about getting a fountain pen or something that uses India Ink, so we could emboss the letters (we found out that we could do that tonight!! It's awesome, I think). But again would that be weird? Or should we just go with regular typed ones?
