Are your STDs done? Its up to you when you want to send, especially with the Holiday season coming, however I did read in one blog where a girl sent hers too early. I would say end of November would be a good time to do it that will give a full month for travel info to get out and the holidays to let family know ideas of traveling to GA.
I agree that November is a good time to do so since they will be able to make their travel arrangements by then. Hotels will offer grouproom blocks that far in advance, so I don't really see a problem. If you have a wedding website and you reference that on the STD's then you can also note somewhere that they can check there for updates.
We did our at a little less thana year since most of our guests will be travelling and it's a holiday weekend. 6-9 months is a normal window. Up to a year for OOT or holidays.
Save the dates are generally sent out 6-12 months in advance. 10/10 is not a holiday so airlines and hotels will be regular price for anyone who has to travel. Even for out of state, 6 months is plenty of advance notice. Then send out invites at the regular 6-8 weeks beforehand.

Should I wait send out the STD's until I can get travel info? The wedding date is 10/10/10? My family is from NY we are have the wedding in his home town in GA. I think the travel sites will have the prices posted in another month for that month next year.
