I know this may be a silly question, but I can't decide how to word my save the dates.

My friend is being extremely patient & kind enough to design them for me, but I'm stuck on the wording.

It's a fairly formal save the date b/c the wedding is formal....

Also, does the women's name always come first??

    Thanks so much!!

I would just put the names in the order that they sound best. FI has a one syllable name and I have a two, so I put my name first. It's totally personal preference.

I voted for the first option. But to answer your question, yes... the woman's name always goes first. :)

I wasn't sure if "celebrate" and "wedding" was redundant so that's why I couldn't decide....

I voted for "the marraige of" because you are not actually celebrating the wedding, but the marraige.  The wedding is the celebration.

I think the first sounds better and will fit in your formal invitation - where I think the woman's name goes first for etiquette

The wedding is the celebration of the marriage, so it doesn't sound right to me to say "Join us to celebrate the celebration of the marriage of... "  I would go with the second option.  :)
