- Wedding: March 2010
Hello, I bought my wedding gown 8+ months in advance.
Before handing the gown to me I remember seeing the owner of the salon steaming my gown with a hand steamer, I asked her about it and she mentioned that she used to own very expensive steamers that didn’t work as well as the cheap one she was actually using. She suggested me to purchase a cheap steamer to use to steam my gown before the wedding.
My gown is ALL lace, ivory.
Lace doesn’t really gets wrinkly but I would still want to steam it to give “life” to it … as it has been sitting in a closer for awhile now.
How should I use this steamer though? How far from the fabric should I hold it? How hot should the steamer be in order to do a good job but not burn or stain? (I dont even know if steamers have temperature controls).
