Hey Hey bees,
So I am a heavier girl and I would like something to hold me in a bit on my wedding day lol . I hate how David’s bridal corsets or whatever they call them don’t hold me in. So I kind of guess that is not their purpose lol
Anyways I was looking on google and saw some steel boned corsets, which I guess is the one you need to purchase if you want it to hold you in. However I saw something about waist training and how it could kill you!!!!!!!!! I obviously don’t want that lol I just want to wear it for the one day and be done. So I guess im asking if anyone has had experiences with these? Anyones opinion is welcome with or without experience.

Yes waist training can kill you, if you over do it. I’m talking going from a normal 3-5 inch drop with a steel boned corset after MONTHS of training or like going from 0-10 in a day/week
Don’t be stupid about it and it will be fine.

I have a custom steel-boned corset for wearing under Victorian dresses. No, it won’t kill you. Actually, when properly made and worn, they are quite comfortable–they give a lot of support. Steel-boned corsets will mold to your figure over time.
You may have seen references to what I believe is called tight-lacing. Some people do this purposefully, trying to create the smallest possible waist. This doesn’t have anything to do with just wearing a corset normally.
I can tell you that wearing one for one day will not hurt you. However, an ‘off the rack’ model may not be as comfortable as one custom made for you.
