I like them in theory.. but when I tried one on I was a bit underwhelmed. Don’t get me wrong.. I’d love to have a step cut one day, but for my engagement ring I wanted something more sparkly. I love sparkly stuff… I’m like known for it haha always wearing sparkly nailpolish and stuff.

@Arshim:  I LOVE Asscher cuts. They look bottomless! They remind me of Alice’s looking glass. I’m not sure why, except that maybe they look magical to me? I love emerald cuts too, but there is something about the symmetry of an asscher cut that just fascinates me!

I’ve alway thought that emerald cuts were so sophisticated… kind of quietly sparkly but the quality has to be impeccable. I love how clean they look. I’ve been interested in this one from Wexford Jewelers.

I love them. Asscher cut diamonds are super pretty, and I would have loved to have gotten one for my ring!

I don’t like them. I prefer more sparkle.

I have an EC and I loooove it. I think they are classic and elegant. I also get compliments ALL THE TIME about how sparkly it is. It’s definitely different, and I love that. I don’t know anyone else in real life who has one, and people always tell me they love the shape.

I like asschers as well, but they face up VERY small.

When I very first started looking at rings I was dead set AGAINST step cuts. I wanted the mad sparkle of a radiant. Then I found an emerald cut promise ring that I couldn’t stop thinkin about so I took a risk and we got it. I was immdiately obsessed with it when I opened the ring box. They are ao classy and elegant. Mine is insanely sparkly and still has fire. I knew that when we ordered my forever ring it HAD to be an emerald cut. The bottom picture is my promise ring and the top is my engagement ring that I am waiting for!

Love asschers! I like emerald cuts for colored stones but not diamonds.

I love step cuts. I’m non discriminatory toward any diamond, regardless of shape or size. My engagement ring is a round brilliant, but I have an emerald-cut solitaire thats a family heirloom. I wear them both!

Asscher is my favorite diamond cut, but I have a cushion because my husband felt that if we went with an Asscher then we needed a stone with higher specs and therefore out of our budget.

Oh, I think they’re beautiful. FI wanted to get an emerald cut but I really wanted more sparkle (so he got a radiant!). I would love a 3 stone emerald cut RHR though!

Not my taste for an ER, but I love the Art Deco feel of them especially for a right hand ring.

I fell in love with the emerald cut. My ring is pretty much exactly like peaceoutboyscout’s promise ring. It strikes me as very feminie and classic.

I love other cuts, too, but they did not appeal to my asthetic as much.

I should add that I HATE big clunky emeralds cuts, though…like Angelina Jolie’s. That’s a no to me. It just loses the appeal when they’re like that.
