How clumsy can one person get? :)

I stepped on a nametag by accident today and the needle went in my foot. Then I had to watch the spectacular show of a tiny blood fountain on my carpet.
Anyway, I was wondering about what I should do with the “injured” place. I cleaned it and put a band aid on it, but is there anything else I can do or things I should watch out for?
Thank you for any helpful advice you can give

have you had a tetanus shot? I would perhap check that out first just in case the metal was rusty or something. Secondly, was it your name tag? I always worry about stabbing myself with pins that someone else may have stabbed them selves with too. I would have encouranged more bleeding my squeezing the entry sight to remove any bacteria from the wound, then use an alcohol wipe over the area, apply an antiseptic cream and cover with a blister pad or something that still allows the site to breath but doesnt allow dirt to enter.
Watch out for extreme redness and any severe pain or swelling.

Thank you for your reply!
I’ve had a tetanus shot, so thankfully that’s ok, and the needle wasn’t rusty. But this was my boyfriend’s nametag, though his health is in good condition.
As for encouraging bleeding – that definitely happened without me knowing 🙂 I had moved my foot and I guess flexing it like that just created a tiny fountain of sorts, but I will definitely watch out for redness and swelling. Thank you again!

I’d probably put some pressure on it to stop the bleeding and then just keep it bandaged up. Hope you’re able to walk on it! That must have hurt.
