I was so excited about my Kate Spade flats until I showed my mom. Her reaction was, “Oh my God, flat shoes?!?! Why aren’t you wearing heels!?!” I chose flats because my Dad, who will be walking me down the aisle, is only five feet tall and I’m already three inches taller than him. Needless to say, my mom’s reaction has shaken my confidence in my choice. Should I stick with my current choice or hunt down some pretty heels?

@ms. headphone: Is your dress long enough where no one is going to see your shoes anyways? I don’t think it’s a big deal. I think your shoes are fantastic!

I love your shoes!
Did you ask your mom (or dad) if he’s uncomfortable with the height difference? If not, you could always just find a cute pair of kitten heels for the ceremony and then just change into those for the reception.
But I love them, and if you do too, then wear them. It’s your day!!

do what you are comfortable with!! you had good reasoning for wearing the flats…and they will be comfy

I love the shoes. I’m wearing flats because my Fiance is only an inch taller than me. Added bonus – little/no feet pain! 🙂

My dress is long, which is why I think my mom objects to the flats. She said the dress is too fancy for the shoes. I don’t really think my dad cares about me towering over him.
