Does he have a sports team he likes? You could get home merchandies (hats, shirts-they have everything, even socks!), or even a book about his favourite team/player or band.

I always get FI bath and shower stuff, and really nice shaving lotion or razors.

What are his hobbies? If he plays golf that's always great because everything is stocking sized! lol

Maybe some of his favourite candy, or a bottle of his favourite booze?

    Gift certificates...

Can you tell I am curently finishing my xmas shopping online? :P

Pocket knives, maybe even keychain size, are always winners in our house.

I gave them all sample spayers of several colognes that I got (sales lady was so sweet) when I bought some perfume for my mother.

Hankies, all my guys love hankies for some reason.

Target has quite a good selection in their mens department, I got some really fun stuff there.

My Mum stocked my dads, brother's and now DH's stockings with the essentials; deodorant/body spray, cologne, toothpaste, underwear, socks and then chocolates, mickeys of alcohol (or chocolate WITH alcohol), and sometimes CD's, games (we have a WII), movies, mitt/boot warmers. LOTS you can do.

My Mum does stockings for the family, so I'll probably just bring a couple personal things to put in his at my parents.

We usually do lots of candy and random small things.  Like last year I put an electric toothbrooth in his, (the cheap kind, not the $100 kind).  This year he's getting drink stirrers, (he really wants them) and thick wool socks.

But I would say good stuffers for men are money clips, pocket knives, a gift card to somewhere manly, (bevmo), small tools...

Mr. Hedgie is getting some christmas expasion packs to his favorite card game, Munchkin (seriously, the man LOVES this game! They even played it on our wedding day while the girls got ready) A new, nice set of D&D dice (yeah... he is THAT kind of nerd) and some wasabi peas he is obsessed with but can never find.

My husband loves to cook and play board games and other random stuff, so last year (my first year of stockings for DH) I got him little kitchen stuff he wanted, like a meat thermometer, Bananagrams (huge hit!), and funny boxers. Plus candy... Everyone likes candy :)

I like to do little samples of cologne, since he's just gotten into wearing cologne in the last couple of years and is experimenting to figure out what he likes best. Candy is also a safe bet. I got him some dice for D&D one year (yeahhh, we're nerdy like that), too.

I love the scratch off idea! That is somewhat of a tradition at my house.

You could do boxers, pending on who will be around when you open them.

Chapstick, gift cards, gloves, a movie...those are things that have been successful! We've also put in little MagLite flashlights. Those were popular.

You could put in those little bottles of booze, favorite candy, a new water bottle (I'm addicted to those CamelBak ones), a Christmas ornament...that's about all I can think of at this point!

A little tool set for around 12 bucks from JCPennys and some boxers from Old Navy are DH's stocking stuffers.

DH really likes slipper socks. And he needs new ones since the ones from last year are full of holes. But they are impossible to find, so maybe don't go for those!

In FI's stocking right now is a new wallet and a candy bar. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get him a zippo and a cigar as well. He'll be getting a large thing of bourbon as a regular present but I may put a few nips of other things in there to!

We do gifts at DH's parents, so they take care of our stockings.  We open gifts privately before, but no stockings, at least yet!

Thinkgeek.com is always good for random/cool stocking stuffers. For example, you can get Star Wars lightsaber chop sticks, canned unicorn meat, origami post-it notes, and caffeinated hot chocolate mix.

I just started the stocking stuffer tradition with FI last year.  He didn't do stockings when he was little, so i had to teach him how to do it.  haha.  But we get each other bath stuff like deodorant, shampoo, body wash, and other stuff like socks, and candy and snacks.  last year I got him a bunch of "magic towels" from the dollar store, you know the ones that are all compressed into a little 2in x 2 in square?  Those were actually a huge hit.  They were marvel comic book heros and him feeling like a kid again.  He was so excited to use them, no joke.

FI and I are doing only stocking stuffers, as well, so this thread has been really useful.  We have a $50 limit... keep the ideas coming, please!

Another one I haven't seen yet: movie tickets or vouchers for movie tickets? Or a DVD and a bag of popcorn (if your stockings are relatively wide, haha)

I put in some mens scentless face cream (i've caught him using mine!), a star wars lip balm (which is more for fun, he doesn't use lip balm almost ever), a couple gift cards for iTunes & starbucks. and orange, some chocolate turtles...

@All In A bag of popcorn! OMG! YES. This is his fav snack, I can't believe I didn't think of this! LOL. Thanks!

@.twist.:  What's the face cream?  I'm allergic to most scents and DH has dry skin so that would be great!

I'm also stuck for ideas.  DH doesn't drink and isn't really into sports so that rules out many of the typical small guy stuff.  He also probably has enough socks to have enough to last 6 months without doing any laundry!  I've already picked up his favourite chocolate.

@kate169: ooh good call with the chiplotle gift card.

I always get my husband a pair or boxers with some sort of fish on them, and peanut M&Ms.  That's pretty much it for his stocking...

@AB Bride: The store is called LUSH. He recieved a sample pack from someone a few years back and it had this mens face cream. He liked it a lot but it was SO TINY that it went pretty quickly. He's a manly man, so face cream is kinda of "girly" so it was good to find one he liked. It's about $20 for a small container, but the stuff seems pretty nice!

ETA: and if you were asking about mine, I use the Clinique dry skin moisturizer.

Well my first answer is NOTHING like what I just ended up getting him this year - ha! Even though the board games/kitchen stuff/boxers were a hit last year, this year he wants camping stuff. And he's never specific about what he wants, but thie year he required a hatchet for chopping stuff. Never mind that we only go camping twice a year... So he gets a mallet/tent pole thing, a foldable saw, a hatchet, a flashlight, and some new undershirts for his lumberjack attire (and Reeses...can't forget the candy).

So far I've gotten him several pair of silky boxers (his favorite, that we NEVER find in stores), a personalized Steelers keychain (has his name on it, super cute) and a toothpick holder.

That last one sounds totally insane, but he has this annoying habit of always having toothpicks and I get on to him when he uses ones that've been in his pocket or whatever because I'm so grossed out. So now, he can always have some and they'll be CLEAN. It's almost for my benefit, but it's cute.

I've still gotta go get the candy and toiletries.
