I've been looking around the net and get conflicting advice so I'm asking for some help. I've bought these shoes for my November wedding (see link) and I'd prefer not to wear stockings. Is it okay to go without stockings for a wedding? I'm already flouting convention by wearing color in my wedding dress...

you do not need to wear stockings!  I don't wear them in the winter-wedding or not!  It's totally up to you!  And I think you'll be warm enough in your long gown that you feet and legs won't freeze without them.  I say no way! (But I have a general dislike for them anyway.)

Oh god - I NEVER wear stockings - they were definitely made by a man they are so uncomfortable!

If you are afraid of discoloration in your legs don't worry about it your wearing a long dress no one will even know!

i only wear them if it's more comfy with my shoes, and only with closed toed shoes. and really only for work. i don't think you have to for your wedding, it's your decision.

No.Stockings.Ever. Unless you're under the age of 10 or over the age of 70 you just don't need them.

Yeah I haven't wore stockings with open toed shoes since I was like 8 so my vote is Nope. :) get a cute pedicure and show it off instead.

Yeah,  I don't believe you need too esp since you had a long dress.

I wear stocking only on occasion..but my wedding--I won't be. It will be hot dancing around and I would die with stockings on!

But maybe afterwards: some nice black stocking with some lingerie for that night!

Stockings are not needed for open toe or long dresses. I don't think they look good if they can be seen (as in if you can tell someone is wearing them by looking at their sandals or peep-toe shoes)

no one's going to see them under the dress - but if you feel more comfortable in stockings (it might help chaffing of new shoes?) then go ahead and wear them. i don't think you should feel that it's necessary though.

Who wears stockings anymore?! Ok maybe for REALLY formal job interviews.

I also vote no. I tried to wear some smexy thigh-highs on my wedding day, but it made the back of my shoe keep slipping off so my shoe wouldnt even stay on. I had to take them off almost as soon as I put them on lol (good thing my wedding dress had enough layers and enough poof to hide me because I had to take them off in public!)

I voted no stockings....but you could always have a nude pair handy in case you get cold and want to put them on later. That's the only reason I ever wear them, for the tiny bit of warmth they provide. But under your dress I doubt you'll need them.

Definitely no stockings. They are usually uncomfortable and I wouldn't wear them unless you liked the look or wanted the warmth they provide, as CaliValley82 said. No stockings.

Rock them without the stockings...but that's just my opinion.

Personally, I'm going to have enough to deal with walking in high heels across the grassy lawn to add the "sliding" feeling that pairing stockings with sandals gives me...

I wear stockings all the time, but by choice, not by convention mandate. The rules are much freer now and you can choose. I think you'd be more comfortable without, it sounds like from your post,?

Down with stockings!  Go bare... it's sexier & not nearly as restricting! Its your day, do what feels right & comfortable!

I usually don't wear stockings, but I think I am wearing control top panty hose for my wedding. My undergarment is an all-in-one, so no spanx, and I thought I needed something on my legs. Plus, I'm wearing ballet slippers (I think they are really bedroom slippers to tell the truth) they are satin with some lace and pearls on them-so I think barefoot will not feel too good anyway. If I were wearing your shoes-I'd say no stockings and get a really pretty color or french pedi with those sexy high heeled shoes!

stockings nah.. fishnets maybe... especially the really cute ones that they have out nowadays, but that's really only for closed toed shoes..... so i voted no as well.

I wouldn't wear stockings.  I think you'll be warm enough.  I had color in my dress too.  Although my wedding was in August, it was only 55 degrees that night.  It was chilly, but I was sweating a lot under my dress.

You do not have to wear them, but I did just see an ad about spanx footless nude ones...
