So I woke up this morning at about 5am because my stomach was hurting & I couldn’t sleep. I had an achy/crampy feeling in my stomach & felt a little nauseated. Decided to get up & go to the bathroom in case I got sick, and I started throwing up after a few minutes. I almost never throw up so I thought that was a little odd.
I’m hoping maybe I ate something weird & that it’ll pass, cause my stomach still hurts. :-

Probably either food poisoning or a stomach bug. Sip room temp beverages with elecrolytes to stay hydrated and take it easy.
Did you eat anything out of the ordinary last night?

@KatNYC2011: Nothing out of the ordinary, really. Dh & I both had a cookie that was in a gift basket we got for Christmas, but he didn’t get sick or anything. I went back to sleep but my stomach still hurts after I woke back up again.

It sounds like the stomach flu. The same thing happened to my BF: he woke up around 4am with sharp stomach pains, and then he threw up. And then he threw up 5 more times…
Take small sips of water, do NOT eat anything. Not even toast.
Stomach flus only last 24 hours. Just rest, relax, and stay hydrated with tiny sips of water. Don’t chug anything, you might throw it back up.
You can take Dramamine or Bonine (both over the counter) to help stop the vomitting (they are antiemetics).
Hope you feel better soon! 🙂

Stomach flu. I had the same thing 2 weeks ago 🙁 Almost same experience, too – went to bed and woke up at 2am with horrible stomach pain then threw up 4 times. Oy.
Keep yourself hydrated with water or vitamin water/gatorade if you think you can keep any down and don’t eat for a while. Get lots of rest as well! If it persists for more than a day or two, go see your doctor.

It’s weird because I threw up when I got up this morning, but I haven’t thrown up since. I ate a bowl of cereal when I got up & it’s stayed down. My stomach just feels crampy. But I’ve been getting light headed/dizzy when I stand up. :-

There’s a norovirus (24-hour stomach virus) going around. Sounds like you’re fighting it off pretty well!

@Crindy: I’m hoping that’s all it is. I used to take a multivitamin, but I haven’t taken them for a while. I tried taking one last week & I threw up just a couple minutes after taking it
