@HelleCat: I really like the first stone! There's something about the second stone that looks odd, but maybe it would look better in a setting?
All else being equal, I'd go with the double faceted. Sapphire usually has a lot less fire, and I feel like the double faceting might help with that. But then again, I really like a lot of fire in my stones.
@Cory_loves_this_girl: Yeah it is different for sure. The first one is a really traditional cut. The second one is the kind of the same, but it's like..double cut. So more facets. I've never seen a double cut in person but I can just imagine the sparkle.
Argh. Hard choice lol. The double cut would def have to be in solitaire or a very understated halo, or it would out glitter/maybe over glitter and possibly give it a fakey fake fake look because its SO sparkly...
But...I really like untraditional cuts...Oh, I wonder if I could find an old mine cut? Hmmm
Are you anti-moissy for your ring? There is a moissy going for pretty cheap at Diamond Bistro right now.

@EffieTrinket: No not anti Mossy at all. SO is just set on a white sapphire after my promise ring, he fell in love with it.
Not that I don't adore it too lol
@HelleCat: Right on. I was hoping I could convince someone to buy that moissy before I break down and buy it myself! :D
I like the first stone better, the double faceting of the second makes me think of Portugese cut stones, which cheapen the look of the gem, IMO.
@MrsOliveBird: What is the difference between normal cuts and Portuguese cuts?

Is that second stone also a white sapphire?? I've never seen fire like that from a sapphire... number TWOOOOOO!
@MissNoodles: Its all about cuts with sapphires. The silk which gives them vibrant tones can kill the sparkle if its not cut right. Most standard cuts were made for diamonds not gemstones. A coworker of mine who didnt know sapphires came in purples actually thought I had a rare diamond at first. I was floored with the difference cut can make for these stones. I have a round brilliant at the house we originally intended to set and my ring has the celestial compass cut. Its super shiny.
Go with the second one I like it its shiny!
I LOVE SAPPHIRES! I vote for the 1st one, just because I'm pretty traditional but I have a star burst cut sapphire myself and the sparkle is amazing! I love unique cuts as well, can't go wrong either way.
@MissNoodles: LOL!
OP, I love the first one. But both are lovely!

First lab sapphire. Normal round cut. Seller has perfect ratings on ebay, not even a negative review in 2 years. Money back if it does not test as synth sapphire.
And this one. Double facted round brilliant. Seller is from Texas, only has 3 neutral reviews in 4 years. Full money back if unhappy for any reason.
The 2nd one is about twice as much as the first. But...but...DOUBLE FACETS.
