So this morning at 7am I was supposed to try on my dress for the first time after getting it fitted… and the seamstress stood me up. I got there about 2 minutes early then called and left a voicemail that I was waiting outside around 7:03. Then I decided to leave around 7:12. She called around 7:20 to say she had gotten stuck in traffic and didn’t have my number because all her calendar said was that I was coming to pick up my dress. Um, no, I wasn’t coming to pick up my dress. I was coming in for a fitting. My appointment to pick it up is scheduled for October 2nd. Now she wants to both in the same week. She at least said she’d take 10% off my final bill. But I’m still peeved. I am NOT a morning person and the 7am appointment was HER idea because it fit HER schedule. *grumble grumble* I had been so excited/nervous to try it on now I’m supposed to wait 3 more weeks?? This is crap.

I just got off the phone with her assistant and was able to re-schedule for next Tuesday at 11:30. It’s sort of inconvenient because I have to leave work in the middle of the day! Arg. I cant’ win. I hope the dress fits.

Sorry you had issues with her, my seamstress was equally annoying. Originally she worked at the store where I bought the dress, but by the time i was ready for fittings she was working from home. When I met here there she had a dog locked up barking non-stop in the house, her house was a mess b/c of her kids (and dog – i was imagining dog hair all over my dress), I tried the dress on in her daughter’s room and there was baby puke on the floor from the girl before me. She’s lucky I didn’t walk right back out! Not to mention she never answered the phone when I called, I’d usually get voicemail first and she’d pick up as i was leaving a message (EVERY time), then she LOST my phone number, twice! And when I asked her to save the fabric scraps from hemming my dress, she ‘forgot’ which dress she was supposed to save, so saved all of them, and then when she was to mail it to me, she ‘lost’ the envelope with the fabric so it took an extra week!
Sorry for the novel, lol. Hopefully the rest of your experience with her goes great! (mine did do a good job on the dress, but was just NOT professional at all)

yeah it sucks but you got a discount for your trouble. Yeah 7am sucks too. but hey…..discount…
