I read someone here on wedding bee made a garment bag out of a white sheet to hang her dress in. I heard not to use the plastic for a long period of time because the dress cant breath, so you should use cloth of some sort.
I second hearing about the white sheet and not using plastic. I'm going to wrap mine in a cheap white sheet and lay it flat. The internet and the people at Saks told me the same thing. The internet is never wrong.

I just brought home this week my gown and need some advice please for the best storage tip for the gown in my closet.
Currently, I just have it hung up on a plastic hanger with the plastic hooks attached to the strings attached to the strapless gown, in a closet, inside a clear garment bag.
Some say to also wrap a white cloth around the gown, then place the garment bag over the cloth and dress and leave the zipper opened about 12 inches long to air out the dress.
Others say not to leave a white cloth rubbing against the gown because the 2 colors touching each other will effect it and leaving the zipper opened a bit will risk moths, moisture and dust getting into the gown.
Help!
