OK bees! I got my crystals Saturday (the black ones) and started on my marry way.. I originally intended on taking pictures along the way… but really only took 1 (with different lighting), and, I did take a video!
and here’s my video, please forgive that it’s crappy cell video.. also, that’s not in natural light, just the flash being turned on from the cell phone video!
Actually, I did two
Here’s one of the heel when I took the pictures above
how they look as of this morning before going to work on them more
this is about 6 hours of work at this point.. I will take more pictures and video! Can’t wait to take video outside in the sun! I haven’t even started the 2nd shoe
Looks great, you have great coverage with no gaps!
I really want to give this a go, i have the crystals, just need to find a pair of shoes! Was planning on strassing wedding shoes but i don’t think they will go with the dress i picked so i’m going to try it on some going out shoes!
@MrsFritTheBrit: I think it’s a lot of fun (I like tedious work though).. Everything I have heard, try and find velvet/satin/fabric shoes to do, because it’s easier to work with.. E6000 is like.. Industrial strength rubber cement… So te surface of my shoes is making it weird to work with.
@hiroshymatetrastar: they look great i want to start another pair but damn i hate the smell of the E6000 glue but its the only thing that works so great ; ( i wear a mask and do it out side with a fan turned the other way to suck the fumes away from me the fumes make me a lil light headed be careful of the fumes. i cant wait to see when there done
@Birdi: Ummmmmm…..for 21,600 of the glass crystals I paid $170.40 for 15,000 (wow that extra 440 per set makes a huge difference!) of the acrylic I paid $49.56 but to get 22,000 of acrylic (they only sell them in 1,000 piece groups) it would have been $72.74.. Both the glass and the acrylic have free shipping! (I’m thinking I’m going to need to order more of each of them in acrylic now o_O
@HisNightOwl2014: Thanks! The E-6000 really doesn’t bother me too much.. Maybe I got something different in the e-6000 line? (I have the gray tube).. I’m excited to see both pairs done!!!
@Birdi: DUDE I would LOVE to strass for a living! If I offered to do it for people, I would have them ship me their shoes so they’re already broken in (you don’t want to do a pair that isn’t broken in because the glue makes them unmalliable)
