Ok so I am newly engaged and until my fiance I’ve never thought about marriage or venues dates etc. so now that I am engaged the pressure is definately on for a date and a venue.
So here is my question to all you brides and brides to be, I need to find a venue that is the rustic barn/farm feeling but it also has to be reasonably priced, we just bought a house so our budget is fairly small.
My Fiance is pretty frugale and now wants to have a destination wedding due to weddings here being sooo expensive, but if I can find something that we want that is reasonable then I can probably talk him into getting married here. I really want to stay in Canada (ontario) and get married so I am begging you girls to help me.

Check out our Toronto board, there are some great venue ideas there! What’s your budget?
(Mrs Martian listed some prices she found during her search and there are a few others listed as well: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/gta-venue-decisions-help)

Hello, I did a few serches on the internet. I’m not sure how big your guest list is but here are a few I found.
found this on yahoo answers for someone looking for the same…
Bean Town ranch is a great rustic location with lovely venues both indoors and outside. they charge about 3000 for the site and their catering starts at 31 pp so you would need to plan a smaller event to fit your budget. never discount the possibility of them giving you a better price when you contact them though because online prices are only meant as a guideline. http://www.beantownranch.com/
Lakeview arts barn is an extremely rustic place where summer theater is held. they rent their facilities for events such as weddings. i think the rental for the venue runs about 1500 but i am not certain of that. their catering starts at 15 pp for plated dinners and around 11 pp for buffet. very reasonable prices. http://www.lakeviewartsbarn.com/
there are also wonderful choices in the next three venues but they don’t list online pricing so you would have to contact them for a quote.
hope this helps!

Just as a heads up, the Elora Mill is closed until 2012 for renovations 🙁 It’s beautiful though, Elora is one of my favourite places on earth. Rockwood is nearby to Guelph and has some gorgeous ruins for weddings.
