I too have stretchmarks but what I worry about right now are the ones on my upper arms near my torso and armpits that will be seen when I wear my wedding dress (I don’t wear shorts/skirts/swimsuits–ever)—-I just saw on TV the other day that there’s a new cream out there that works in 12 weeks I guess called Mederma or something like that.  Maybe look into that?

I don’t know of anything that will lessen them once they have healed…I rememeber reading somewhere long ago that unless they are in the stage of being formed there isn’t much to be done…I’ve also heard of what curlysue is talking about but haven’t tried it…I did think about giving it a try, but don’t know if it’s worth it.

Time.

They never go away, but they do get thin and silver.  Most people have them.  I have a ton in strange places (backs of my knees) from growing so fast, and I was always thin.

I have stretch marks (yay babies<–sarcasm), and have been told that as long as they aren’t ‘silver’ there is a laser procedure that re-surfaces the skin or somesuch. Probably hella expensive though.

Any creams and such like that I have tried really don’t do much (though I have never heard of mederma). I also agree with locket, you can prevent them from getting worse by moisturizing/using special creams while they are forming, but often what is done is done :/

im sorry to say…almost nothing works unless the stretchmarks are brand new (still red…not silvery). dont waste your time with creams on older stretch marks (you are only wasting your money) I am very slender and have had the stretchmarks since puberty also and they SUCK. but i just have learned to get used to them being there….
