I can’t believe but my day is almost here. I am finally meeting with our string quartet on thursday but I want to provide them with some more contemporary music ideas…..I love the idea of string instruments but want more up to date music….Any suggestions??

Are you looking for something with the “classical” feel but less stately and uptight (for lack of better terms)? Or are you looking for something that sounds kind of like a subdued version of today’s pop music, for strings? I play weddings all the time, and we’ve often been asked to play Beatles arrangements, an arrangement of the couple’s favorite song, etc.

My musician is playing the following songs for the ceremony: The Wedding Song by Peter, Paul & Mary, Grow Old With Me by John Lennon, Annie’s Song by John Denver and Keeper Of The Stars by Tracy Byrd. They’re not so much contemporary as folk and country… but that’s more our style.
