Who here has had (or is going to have) a string quartet at the ceremony? I’ve got a song that i’d like to walk down the aisle to but everything else i’m kind of lost. Does anyone have an idea of any upbeat string versions of music to walk out of the ceremony to? halp!

I’m thinking of it– it’s a bit pricey though. Listen to Vivaldi’s 4 Seasons. I think the summer movement is very pretty.

I’m doing a string quartet and walking down the aisle to Pachelbel’s Canon in D. Totally hoping they can play some Lady Gaga a la Vitamin String Quartet for the cocktail hour, though.

Before I found us a live musician for cocktail hour, my fiance (he is in charge of music) found out about Vitamin String Quartet and we planned on having that for the entire segment. They have all modern songs but in classical string version. I am having a backyard wedding and wanted something traditional but with a twist. They have TONS of albums so you will be sure to find something you like!

@CookieBee: We’re having one. I’m also walking down the aisle to Pachelbel’s Canon in D and they’re playing the hymns. For before the service or at the reception venue we’re choosing quite a few Edward Elgar songs as he came from Worcestershire (my hometown also and where we’re getting married) plus we like his classical music. They’re going to play a Beatles song to walk up the aisle to.

We’re having a string quartet for the ceremony. So excited! Do you want classical or contemporary for your recessional? Also, do you mind if I ask what song they’ll play as you walk down the aisle?

i love you bee’s <3
my Fiance couldn’t care less what music i pick lol so i’m going to say I a lot in this post.
That said, I picked Flora’s Secret by Enya (vitamin string quartet cover) for my processional. I’m not sure if i want to use that for my bridal party too or if i should do something different for them. I think i want to keep it easy and classical for the prelude (when people come arrive at the ceremony spot) and I really like Muse – Starlight (vitamin string quartet) for after we kiss and walk back down the aisle towards the cocktail hour. My mom doesn’t love it and i’m looking for more options. The guy i’m booking the quartet through said i just need sheet music for the quartet (and i’d include a copy of the song just in case they need help with it) so i’m pretty confident that i can get a quartet to pull it off. i’ve been thinking i want to do something upbeat at the end of the ceremony because it’ll set the tone for cocktail hour which will be a jazz trio then the reception we have a band.
holy novel sorry for the long post <3
