@jdhall89:  I don’t think you’re being unreasonable in wanting this, if you love it, that’s what you should get, if people just aren’t interested in staying on-site, I’m sure there are hotels, motels and B&B’s nearby that they can line up to make sure they’re comfortable.

@jdhall89:  I don’t think you’re being “that bride”  and I get that a lot of couples like to create not just an evening but a weekend of activities and entertainment that represents them as a couple, so plan what you like, but be understanding if some of your family members and guests elect to stay elsewhere, or only attend certain activities because if they’ve traveled that far, it’s kind of like a vacation for them, and having a say in how you spend it is only natural.

Just quit trying to please everyone.. It’s an impossble task! If some people truly find that it is more than they can bear, they have the option of reserving at a hotel and driving to the ceremony and reception-thus choosing not to make a weekend out of it, and bearing their own expenses for the other meals that you are providing.

@jdhall89:  Stop doing this to yourself. You don’t need to justify your choice of venue to anyone. It’s perfect as is. I think it would be  a great weekend.

That could be really fun!  If this was our family it would turn into a booze fueled combination of Meatballs and The Great Outdoors, it’s basic and simple and has bunk beds, which always spells trouble when my bother and I are involved.  If your family wants to poo-poo te whole thing, fine, they’re missing out on a chance for a lot of fun!

@jdhall89:  If you have too many invitations declined, (which I assure you will not be the case) I know a bunch of Bees from Vancouver who would be happy to attend. And we’re close too!

@jdhall89:  Do what you want.  Sounds like they want your wedding to be something other than you want.  Nuts to that.  It’s your wedding.
