- Wedding: October 2013
Hello, all! I’ve been reading posts on this website since I got engaged, but only now at the less-than-3-month mark have I officially joined the hive. I’m feeing ok about a lot of things, but I’m weirdly hung up on gifts for the dads. My dad is very much the golf, business, professional type (when he isn’t embarrassing his kids in public), and my future f-i-l is more a laid back, have a beer, watch some college football type.
They are both amazing people and I’m so blessed to have them both in my life and as part of the wedding. The question is, what can I get them as gifts? I got two ties (so they’d match), but Father-In-Law isn’t really a tie kind of guy, so a tie tack seems silly. I considered etched barware, my dad isn’t much of a drinker since he got diabetes. Do I get them different things? Do I find something that works for both?
I’m really torn about what to present at the rehearsal dinner that will express my appreciation to them both. And while I love my fiance, he is of zero help in this department. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
