Studio epics are a bit outdated. If anything,I would do them on a high key white background. But, wearing something matching is ABSOLUTELY outdated and was very popular back in the mid 90’s

@USER876: i agree!
FH’s parents like to get family pictures done in a studio every year and i was invited to the last one. geeeeez. it was on a white background and for big group pictures, sure it’s fine. each couple/family within the family got pictures done and in the one of FH and I, we look like such turds. my brother has a copy of it in his house for laughs lol.
FH wore a maroon button up and black slacks and i wore a black dress with tights and high heel boots (not that it mattered since it basically only showed from the hips or waist up.

While I’m not a big fan of studio pics, they can turn out nice. Here are a couple that DH & I had done when we were on our cruise in front of a white background. I actually have one of them printed & hanging in our home because I liked it so much…
Sorry these are so big!! Tried resizing them twice & they’re still gigantic!

There is nothing wrong with images like what are posted above if you like that look, or if say you were only looking for one image for a newspaper announcement. I think you are selling yourself short though. These studio sessions were popular back in the 90’s before digital photography took over. Photographers had better control using studio lighting and could work more efficiently. Now with digital, there are a ton of possibilities in post production, and most of them can’t be implimented on high key studio images. Unless you are getting a super deal and money is an issue, I would recommend going outdoors all the way to get the most out of the session.
Also, dressing a-like was teh thing to do in 1991 LOL Don’t do it!
