Time to put the defriend button to work! You don't need negative people in your life, especially at such an exciting time in your life!
So rude! And honestly I have never heard of anyone going through the entire process of being engaged and planning a wedding just because it is a fad (which I've never heard of engagement as a fad anyway). I agree just unfriend her because she will probably be there and spit on everything you say from now on.

Oh, I know! I was engaged once before, and when my FI proposed one of my "friends" did something like that.
"Congrats...I guess, though YOU being engaged doesn't surprise me."

Rosie you don't need people like that in your life. Ignore negative comments from others. if they can't be happy for you then you should have to listen to them.

I need to vent! This has been eating at me for awhile now. My FI and I have only been dating for 5 months. yes, I know it is soon to get engaged, but we live together, and we just know. I have a 2 year old and we both know that we are ready to settle down and with each other.
Anyways. We have these couple friends, and we were friends before we were even couples. Well, we went on a trip the 4 of us to a concert, and when we got back she stopped talking to me. We have been friends for a long time, so it was weird. I finally asked her why on FB becasue she wouldn't answer me or anything on the phone, and she had a whole list of "excuses" as so why she doesn't want to be friends anymore. Whatever. I'm really not that upset by it.
BUT, my FI proposed on Saturday. Right after word got out, she posted on FB: tis the season to get engaged... i guess. Then after a few comments she said something about people just getting engaged because its the fad and that people don't take it serious and all this stuff. I know for a fact it was directed at me and FI. I am so pissed about it!
Yeah, it was soon. But we have had MULTIPLE talks about it and would never get married if we didn't know it was forever and all that and that we will NOT get divorced and if things get that bad we will do everything to work stuff out, etc. UGH! I'm so mad at her!!!!! Thanks, I needed to vent!
