I picked out the Bridesmaid or Best Man dress we’re going to use from David’s Bridal. So what now? Do the girls go get fitted in a store and order it? Am I just supposed to trust them to order it online? I would prefer not to do that because some people will try to order a smaller size just because it sounds better, but I prefer that the dresses actually fit! So what’s the process? Thanks!

@whitandrior: First, you should go into a store and, in person, tell a sales associate you have x number of girls who will be ordering y dress. They’ll enter the info in the computer so that Each girl can go to a local store and be measured and order the dress. Easy as pie! After they place the order, they’ll be called when it comes in. Then they’ll do alterations and all that.

You have a few options. You can have them each be responsible for ordering their dresses either in store or online. The easiest thing and best if you’re concerned about dye lots is to have them all go to the store to get measured then order them all together. If this isn’t an option they can getmeasured (not that difficult to do yourselves but a seamstress will often do it for a small fee) and then order in store or online according to the size chart

Ok, sounds good! Unfortunately I don’t think I’m going to get them all to the same store. 2 live in the suburbs and 2 live in the city. Hopefully it won’t be an issue, I didn’t even think about dye lots! I will just ask them to go to the store that is convenient for them and get measured and order.

No, they don’t have to go to the same store – just as long as they can make it to any David’s Bridal in the country, the info will be in the computer. I bought my dress for a friend’s South Carolina wedding in NY – I told them the bride’s name when I went in, they got the info on the computer which just said which color to look for (apple :D) and the saleslady helped me pick dresses in that color. After the transaction, they entered info to show that I had made my purchase and the next time she went in to check she was able to see I had got my dress.
