HA I hear ya. I almost cried when I woke up to snow all over the place. Today is my birthday :( Stupid Minnesota. You can never rely on any month of the year to be nice EVER.
I heard it's supposed to be getting nice again this weekend, like into the 60s, so don't lose hope!
... I would cry if there were snow on the ground. Not even cause of a wedding. Cause... it's snow. And it's cold.
Do you have accumulation? We've had snow falling here in ND for 3 days now, but no accumulation still. Supposed to be in the 50s this weekend too!
We have it on the ground right now! It snowed Friday night too, but melted by maybe 1:00 in the afternoon Saturday. Right now it's like 1.5 to 2 inches where I am, though it's only collecting on the grass & trees. Melting on pavement. At least it won't last.
Yeah, it's on the ground. Not quite an inch yet where I am. But it is covering all the trees, roofs, and the grass. ANNOYING!
Crazy. I'm way north of you Minneapolis people and yeah, just flurries in the air. Nothin' on the ground.
It snowed here on Saturday and there's more in the forecast for the next couple days! I wouldn't mind it so much if it weren't so wet and miserable.
We got about 3 inches in Boulder on Sat. and it was in the 10s and 20s all week. Next weekend supposed to be 60s and sunny. The snow pulled all the leaves off our big tree in our front yard, we have 2 inches of leaves, with snow mixed in. We have to wait until it dries out to rake it! Thankfully the snow didn't take all the leaves off trees, so hopefully there will still be some left next weekend for nice pics!
aw, I'm sorry :( I hate snow. Last year it didn't even really start to get cold in NYC until the end of Oct so I was hoping for that again, but as soon as Oct hit this year, it got cold. A few trees are bare too. I'm HOPING that the major color changing and leaves falling holds off for two weeks so my sister can be here for it, but it sucks either way. More summer please :( (and any dreams I ever had of living some place warm year round were squashed because hubby loooooves winter lol).
Woah, snow?!?! I can't even imagine that! We barely see a flake or two around January down here. Crazy! I'm kinda jealous, I love snow! (of course, snow down here means we all get out of work and school, even if it only lasts for an hour and doesn't accumulate, heh!)
Happy Birthday, minne!!
We got absolutely dumped on in Nebraska this weekend--about 3-5 inches in Omaha (15 in North Platte!)! Thank you Canada. That jet stream was totally unnecessary.:)
It was totally weird, though, because all the trees were still covered in green-yellow and red leaves and there are (were?) still autumn flowers in people's gardens. There were cars covered in a layer of leaves and a layer of snow on top of that. It mostly melted by Sunday, though, and we're back to being just gray and damp again. :P
Snow? Woahdang!
It's torrential downpour land here. I thought I was going to die driving on the connector.
Ugh, we had flurries Saturday morning, then a promise of a "wintry mix" all last night and all day today. We don't get a true summer up here in the northern Midwest, so we should at least get a nice crisp fall without the need to pull out the snow boots until November at least!
Stay warm, ladies!
Just to make you mad at me...there is no snow in Green Bay(where I'm from)..but there is snow in Madison, Iron Mountain (MI), MN and Illinois...according to my Facebook news feed. ha ha!
p.s. 37degF, but no snow
I'm just hoping we aren't going to have another Halloween blizzard of '91 on our hands again!
@ minneapolitan: happy bday! Maybe it will stop snowing soon for your birthday...
Yeah, I catch at 7 am bus and it was a winter wonderland this morning. It's so weird to see leafy trees covered in snow! I think it's finally slowing down though.
I don't feel bad for you snow people! It's been like 98 degrees for the past 2 weeks here and I'm melting! I'll trade you a little cold for some of this heat!
Ooh, I'm hoping for a little snow at my December 6 wedding. I want our first dance to be "I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm" by Sinatra. :-)
o how i would LOVE to be there right now. I love snow, mainly because i'm in Texas and we harldy EVER see it. Except when it snowed last December!
Oh we'll be getting snow in November, probably in about a month. Yuck! It's pretty on weekends, though. Go take some cute pics with your FI =]
We were only suppossed to get a dusting on Saturday morning - instead we had 4 inches on the ground! We took advantage of it and took family pictures in the snow. Still sucks though - this is the earliest in 16 years for snow accumulation.
oh snow! i'm such a fall/winter kind of girl :)
but i would be upset if my fall got cut short too, you can't beat those gorgeous leaves!
Ah, the 91' Blizzard brought back memories. I was a cheerleader that year the cute age of 6 wearing NOTHING cheerleading related because I had to wear a snow suit!!!
But Girl, The snow will be melting. It isn't even freezing to stay and temps are supposed to climb up later in the week. Regardless your day will be beautiful!
BEST WISHES!!!!!
I'm worried about the snow too. We are having and outdoor wedding and reception. We have a small building incase of rain, but I dont want to stuff everyone in there. I gave everyone fair warning to dress for the weather, so hopefully they take me at my word. I am praying hard for sunshine though.
@alli - I totally remember the blizzard of '91! And I hope to god it doesn't happen again on halloween - that's the day I fly back from my honeymoon! I don't want to be stuck in a plane!
Um, how about my friends here in Montana who planned a nice fall wedding this weekend? The high on Saturday was 22, with 3" of snow adn a low of ONE DEGREE on Friday. The weather guy said this type of cold in October (it's more typical for February) only happens once in a generation. How's that for shitty luck, huh?
Some of the best wedding pictures are done in the snow though!
p.s. amariem: the forecast for Saturday is partly cloudy with a high of 49 - I bet all the snow will melt by then and those autumn leaves are just waiting for their turn to show their colors. Either way, your wedding will be beautiful! Who else will have pictures with green leaves in the background and a dash of white snow on the ground? Still, I'll cross my fingers for you and hope it all goes away. :)

Please go away. And stop falling! You are ruining my autumn wedding! How can I have a fall wedding when it looks like winter around here?
