I just went to the grocery store for the sole purpose of buying a little bit and then get cash back that I needed. Well stupid me used a self-checkout and left my $40 there. Just walked out. I was already down the road when I got realized it and then swung back around hoping someone was nice enough to turn it in. FAT CHANCE. The checker recognized me and said that “usually people are good about turning it in”. So I had to get out ANOTHER $40 to pay my carpool. I know it’s only $40 and totally my fault, but it’s the straw that broke the camel’s back. It seems really silly now because it really wasn’t about that I guess… In the last month my dad’s been diagnosed with cancer, I’ve had my second ectopic, we bought a car that I might regret, and I’ve put on 3 pounds instead of losing weight as ordered by the fertility docto. And now I’m scared to face my Reproductive Endocronologist for fear he thinks I’m not trying. I’m just so….ugh.

Sorry to hear you are having such a hard month.
Try to focus on the positives and that everything will turn around!
As for things like “might regret this car”… one of my favourite sayings is don’t borrow trouble from tomorrow! Worry about it when the time comes 🙂

Ugh, I HATE stuff like that! Making a dumb mistake is bad enough, but making a dumb mistake that costs actual measurable amounts of money is worse. Even when it’s not that much money. DH and I were hanging pictures one time and one fell and broke the frame that I had just bought. I was so mad because I had to immediately go to the store and replace the frame that I had just bought earlier that same day — to the tune of another $35. Not that much money, but still, could have bought something way more fun with it than frame #2 for the same picture 🙁
Hopefully things turn around for you soon!!

Sorry this happened!
Think about it from another angle… maybe the person who found your $$ needs it more than you do… maybe it’s a parent who can now “splurge” on a gift for their child… maybe the person can now go back in the store and buy more food to feed their family… maybe that extra $$ will allow that person to buy new shoes for a growing child or diapers for a baby.
Yes, it sucks but maybe the universe will repay in kind.

Cougar09: Try not to be too hard on yourself about the weight. Too much stress can fight against you. Hopefully your money will come back to you. Best wishes for your dad as well.

Cougar09: Sorry about all your bad luck lately. But the good news is that you will never ever forgot to grab the cash out again I bet! Plus after all that bad luck the good must be on its way.
