So I have really long hair, and need some help/inspiration on how to wear it for our special day. I am thinking of wearing it all down with a slight wave/curl to it and pulled back with this gorgeous clip my Mum bought me when we got engaged. Or in a nice tight low bun – pics below!!
Please post some pics to inspire me 🙂
Here is how long it is!!
Below are a couple pics of ideas – please vote for which you prefer 🙂
I really love both, but think the down-do would be better as I tend to get headaches if my hair is up somedays. However, I really do love a nice low bun 🙂
Any suggestions are welcome – go pic crazy!

Wow! Your hair is super long 😀 Mine wasn’t quite that long but is very very thick! Here is 2 pics for you as mine was most down and curly.. one from my wedding day and then one below from trial which was a bit more “pulled back”

My hair isn’t as long as yours anymore, but it had been – and most likely will be again in time for the wedding. It is very thick also, and while I do like the look of it half down hairdo like in the second picture – I will probably be wearing mine all up.

Mine was also super long (waist length) and is very, very thick and curly. I wore mine up.
My hairdresser gave me this advice, if you normally wear your hair down, wear it down or half up, if you normally wear it up, then wear it up. You want to look like yourself.
I went for a retro-inspired updo.

Mine is super long and thick too. I like the second idea:

Your hair is almost IDENTICAL to mine! Same length, colour, thickness and with a slight wave. I’ve been looking and love these styles. I’m worried about the curls half down, however, because I don’t know if, at this length, my hair can retain a curl that long.

@takemyhand: Yeah I would love to have curls, but my hair is so heavy that they just fall out. Although I can manage a nice wave with a good hair spray 🙂
I have my hair thinned out twice a year, and it’s definitely due again!

- Wedding: June 2012 - Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards
I have super thick hair that is longer than mid-back. I did curls and a little bump at the top. Rain made my curls fall, but I knew that my hair would not stay in a traditional updo.

My hair is not quite as long as yours, but it is pretty thick and definitely curly. We are very different hair types. I will probably blow dry to straighten it out a bit for the wedding, maybe even straighten it for honeymoon logistical reasons (straight hair is easier for me to twist up quickly, so I can put my hair in a style where I won’t have to do anything to it for the honeymoon). Anyway, styles I do on straightened hair may be more applicable to your dilemma.
My straightish hair:
And straightened hair. an old picture, but it’s only slightly longer now:
And I’m thinking of the following updo for the day:
I would actually like to wear my hair down in curls, but the humidity throughout the day would probably make the curls disappear anyway, or more accurately, reappear in my hair’s natural form (tiny kinks and curls). So rather than worry about my style looking different by the time I get married from the way I set it in the morning, I’ll probably just wear it up.

My hair is thick too and will be doing this Ava Gardner inspired pin curl down do. ” title=”a” alt=”” />

My hair is as long as yours (without curls) and very thick and I opted for a half up/half down combination. I tried a few updos but I ended up getting a headache with all the bobby pins and hair on top of my head.
