I have never heard of this, it sounds like she wants free advertising. I wouldn't do it, no.
Yeah no. There's no way my stylist would be on my programs- it's not an advertisement, it's a WEDDING PROGRAM.
I have never heard of that before, nor have I seen it before. Seems a bit odd for ad's in programs
lol you could always charge her!! hahahaha
I wouldn't do it and I've never seen it done.
It's a form of advertising for her and that's not what a wedding program is for.
I have never heard of this. I would ignore the request, if she mentions is again I would tell her that the programs have already been printed.
I wouldn't do it and do not think it is normal. If I found out that it is actually pretty normal I may reconsider to not cause a stink.
No. It's your wedding program, not a flyer. Word of mouth about her (hopefully great!) services will be just fine.
no, that's odd! Unless she's doing it for free? and maybe you could thank her?
unless she's doing the service for free, then NO. I've heard of vendors putting business cards out on the gift table or cake table at the reception (and only if they VOLUNTEERED their service, so it's a fair trade) but if you are paying them, HELL NO, and definitely not in the program. Sounds greedy to me.
Yeah, that's not acceptable to me. If your photos are blogged you can always have them credited there, but that's it. Very unprofessional of her to ask!
I'm definitely paying her for her services, so I think I'll take everyone's advice and just go the "sorry they are already printed" route.
I agree w/ bunnyfoofoo, unless their services are free - then its a trade for advertising on the program.
I would say sure, I'll put your name on the program - if you do it for free or take 50% off :)
I agree with PPs and say it's unacceptable and your program is not a vendor advertisement. You could say you would tag her in some pictures or list her information, especially if you have a "getting ready" picture but if not, I don't think you have to advertise anything.
I think that stylist has inhaled too much hairspray.. Just for asking you put her name on the program would make me think twice about using her
I've actually seen this before. I don't like it...but I've seen it. At the bottom of the back page of the program at a few weddings that I have attended they had a thank you section where they listed all of their vendors. They didn't get a discount for it but I guess it's a nice gesture. I'm not doing it though.
No way. You are paying her for her services and that is the extent of the transaction. I agreed to be a reference for my makeup artist and did a review on WB for her that was featured, but honestly that is above and beyond, I only did it because she was awesome.
I might (like seriously MAYBE might) put it on the 'credits' portion of my website, if I had a credits portion. Put it on the program? Hell no. Just do a good job, then when people pay a compliment on the hair/make up/styling, YOU can say "Glam Squad did it, isn't it awesome?!" THATS your referral.
If you wanted to mention it on your facebook page or in a blog, i think that would be a nice way to let people know where you got your hair done. However, putting it on the program? No way. Are we going to mention the florist? The caterer? The limo driver? The store you bought your dress from?
Ridiculous, really...
I agree with the PPs. That seems kind of like a tacky request for your stylist to make.

Is it typical to include on your programs who does the bride's hair/makeup? My stylist mentioned the other day that she wanted to be listed with her "Glam Squad". I really wasn't planning on using the programs as advertisements. Thoughts?
