Carnation pomanders are VERY cool looking and come in any color! Also, if you google wedding bouquets, it will also give you an idea of some different flowers you could use that would be in bloom in August!

I agree with JM1217.  A lot of people mix carnations and roses because carnations look like open roses and still are very formal.  Then you’ll still get the look you want.  🙂  Good luck!

I used all white non-roses in my bouquet…not sure how seasonal these are, but they’re all gorgeous: lisianthus, narcissus, hydrangea, lily, star of bethlehem. Can’t help on pink flowers, but maybe this can help.

Have you looked at Ranunculus?  They have a garden rose look to me..

I was just about to suggest ranunculus and then saw the PP suggested it as well! I had never even heard of it, but one of my friends suggested it the other day and it is really the flower I am leaning towards now.
