This cracked me up no end, so I thought I would share.
When I was talking on the phone to Mr V tonight he said he'd changed my surname on his phone to *his* surname, so my texts had come through with my 'new name'.
Seriously? Ahahahaha. I thought it was hilarious, sweet, reassuring, and slightly odd all at once!
Has anyone else's SO/fi/Mr done anything similar?? I didn't know what to think!
FI made a huge ordeal out of it when he changed my name in his phone from *my name* to "My Love". And he thought it was extremely important that I do the same. He also got very upset that I didn't *immediately* change my phone to say *home* instead of *FI's house* when I moved in with him.

At one point I had this fear that my "new" email address would be taken, so I signed up for it (firstnamehislastname@gmail) and when I told him he was so happy! This was before we were engaged btw *blush*
I also accidentally called his place "home" the other day and he got excited (planning to move in after the wedding) and then of course I promptly corrected myself :)
Since the day we got engaged my husband had my name listed as firstname hislastname... hehe... so cute. my phone's always said 'baby' for him... :-)
I just had new business cards made with my new name and FI couldn't stop smiling when I told him. All of his army buddies already call me Mrs. L. Too cute.
Aaaww...that's sweet! For him to do that even before the wedding! My FI just has me on his phone as "ba" sort for Baby...I don't even know how that got started, but that's what he calls me!
I just signed up for a new email witzh his last name, I never thought about getting it before someone else does! Now I'll have to send him an email and see if he notices the difference.
Haha, nice! My FI hasn't done that yet, but I have had it slip a few times that he's my husband, not FI...crap!
So cute! He hasn't done anything like this yet. Though we were hanging out with some friends a few weeks ago, and one of them accidentally referred to him as "your husband," which made him chuckle and grin from ear to ear. I don't think I would have caught it, if she hadn't stopped and corrected herself.
Before we were married, my husband asked me if I'd been "practicing" writing my new name. When I asked him what he meant, he said that I should get out a piece of notebook paper and practice writing my name with his last name over and over to make sure I like the "look" of my new signature! I thought it was such a cute (and yet also a little teenage girly) thing to do! Now everytime I sign my new name I smile thinking about it.
We were on a little mini-retreat in town this weekend and EVERYONE kept calling me MRS. hislastname. The hotel and the restaurants.
Do we look married or something??? lol.
It was so cute though - every single time he heard it, he got this huge grin. :)
As many have said on the boards before once the guy decides he will is going to propose he is "engaged" in his mind! Mr. M was no different and so he has been calling me his FI for MONTHS! I always thought it was cute though - especially if he was talking on the phone and I just overheard him saying it!
aww, that's so sweet! i don't really want to change his moniker on my phone because his name is already the first on the list! makes it very easy to call him.
Aww... Yep, the dude is already calling me "Mrs. HisLastName"... I keep correcting him :P
He's taking me on vacation for my bday next weekend... I think this may be when he cracks out that ring he's been hiding for 3 months :)
Awww! I'm super excited for my new last name, I've been teased about my own for too long!
Hehe he changed my name in his address book as soon as he proposed. So cute! He's still under his pet name in my phone, mostly because I have too many other "M"s! I also claimed my new email address, though I had to be creative because all the normal variations of my new name were gone. I think I'm going to miss my not so normal maiden name...
According to FI, we're already married, so he helped me change all of my magazine subscriptions, etc. I'm known at the "STB Mrs. Karma".

My FH is so excited for me to take his name! He asked if on our door we could have it say his last name and I was like "not until it is ours!" he is wayy too excited it is adorable :)

My # in my fiance's phone is "Lyssa Love" but I think I typed it in for him.

My fiance did something similar. Once we were dating a few months he changed my name in his phone & email to Super Sexy Girlfriend. Once we got engaged he changed it to Super Sexy Fiancee. I wonder if he'll stick to Super Sexy Wife or come up with something else!
my bf keeps calling me furture mrs.*********** i find it cute but kinda weird at the same time hahah i always say thats your mom s name lol so now he does it more to bug me
mechiebaby: I hadn't even thought about this until you posted. So I went to gmail and my name is not available in any variation unless I include numbers which I wasn't too keen on. Signed up for a hotmail account with my future name...I don't like hotmail as much as gmail, but a necessary sacrifice for the name!
My fiance calls me his wife sometimes. Very cute! Makes me giddy.
No but he always says "My beautiful wife ..." To EVERYONE lol. I'm putting such a big deal of love and time into the wedding that I'm always like NO it hasn't HAPPENED YET. Lol.
Those are some seriously cute stories!
In the same vein, someone at church asked "is this your wife?", and he replied "not yet!"
@jingle96 - we're not even engaged yet! (though he keeps dropping no end of hints...).
Cute stories guys! Loverboy hasn't done any of that stuff but I don't think he will ... it's not in his character (or mine really) ... but I did tease him yesterday that I was going to put a 1 in front of my name in his phone so I was the first one in there .. he told me to go ahead but that it might confuse him. I giggled.
I'm an avid gardener and wanted a really nice yard cart. My FI went and bought me one a few months ago to surprise me with. Turns out it was the exact same one my step-mom has, so in order to keep them separate, I wrote my new last name on the back. He thought it was cute, but said it looked like a license plate!
I'm just waiting for when we start getting Mr. & Mrs. mail. Even still, his parents (very Catholic and not really into us living together) send us mail that is only addressed to our first names!
This post made me smile. My FI is still in my phone as hisfirstname-his school. He doens't have a common name so it's not like i had to make it unique when I first met him. After we started dating it became a joke that it still hadn't been changed, but it makes me smile whenever I see him calling.
I'm ready for my new last name. My FI and his family have started calling me by my initials- MMK. Think about how Mr. Garrison says mmmkay on South Park. After the wedding I'll be MMM. mmmmmmmm! that sounds good.
When my FI and I first got engaged, he would look at me every few minuets, give me a HUGE grin and say, "HI FIANCEE!!!!" lol. It was really cute. = )
Lol my name on his phone is Baby, and I have a nickname of his name on my phone. I think it is really cute and sweet to do something a little different than just the plain old names that you were born with, lol.
No this hasn't happened but he told me the other day he was filling out the in case of emergency contact information on his passport and he listed me with what will be my married name and he was like WOW. It's like it sank in that I will be his wife in a few months. He was so cute when he was telling me all about it. I just love that man.
My fiance has his nickname for me on his phone, and I just have his regular name actually. But now I'm thinking of changing that. :)
Aw! These guys are adorable! My SO calls me some crazy name he came up with when we worked together...
When we stayed at a hotel the front desk was calling me Mrs. P and I was grinning from ear to ear...and of course he plays it off like it's no big deal, but he didn't discourage it either!
A few months after we started dating he changed the name in his phone to myfirstnamehislastname. That was before we even got engaged.
Before that though I guess everyone thought we were married already. Maybe a month after we started dating he went to the dealership with me and they handed him a water bottle and they said it was for "his wife."
Yes, mine does this too. He refers to me as his "wifey" or "fiance", he introduces me to people as his fiance, and sometimes he'll say my full name outloud, but with his last name instead of mine. I don't know if I should be annoyed, or touched. I usually go with the first feeling and tell him, "Well, then, put a ring on it!"

When DH was still my FI he used to introduce me to his friends as his "sexy wife"... lol
@mechiebaby: lol I signed up for my new name email address almost a year before he proposed. I was so excited lol. I let it slip a while back. He thought it was funny.
@Miss Velveteen: THAT IS PRECIOUS!! Every now and then my SO will call me MISSTX HISLASTNAME. And it always has such a beautiful ring to it and makes me all giddy! Then I get mad at him and tell him NOT to call me that because that is NOT my name....and it better be soon ;) hahhaa
