There I was….extremely stressed. I was down to the wire, the bridesmaid deposits needed to be in to get the order to go through. We were running out of time…..and no one had laid down the moolah. Crushed.
In steps a cousin…a shinning beacon of light who saves my woe-begotten distress of being bridesmaid less (should their dresses never be ordered) who steps in to save the day by saying, “I will be a bridesmaid….I will order my dress tomorrow.” And my night gets better…..until…..
Morning comes, I awaken. And I think to myself. What the F*@# did I just do??? This is a cousin who my mom does not like, who mooches off other people, who is irresponsible, and as I was in a saddened depressed stupor of dispair lead to me saying YES to someone who I did not want as a bridesmaid.
SO I call the dress shop praying that she did not put the deposit in at the butt crack of dawn. To late. Deposit in. Dress ordered. And I am not the type to go back on my word…..sigh.

Hey, at least she put the deposit down on her dress asap, unlike your other BM’s. I think it is sweet she offered. Go with it. It won’t be that bad.

the whole thing seems very interesting but i think you’re stuck with her now so try and make the best of it.

It sucks that you’re stuck in a bad situation, but make it a good one…try and grow closer to her! If she flakes, the worst that happens is that someone who wasn’t originally in the wedding party is flaking out on it, so you’re no worse off than you’d be anyway. If she comes through, that’s an awesome surprise!

Thanks for the feedback. I will admit that it was very nice of her to jump on the gun so to speak and get her dress. I guess it shows that she really wants to help.

When you said she’s a moocher, I was worried she might not pay for her dress, but given that she’s already done it, perhaps she’s turned around a bit since you last knew her? She sounds very keen and excited to be a bridesmaid, so this could be a good chance for you to get to know her better. Like others said, if she drops out, what have you got to lose?
