Quick update: I live overseas and am forced to buy a dress online. I’ve found a few styles I like online but I’d love to hear some suggestions.
1. Alfred Angelo 1148 – I really like how classic this dress is but I wonder if it’s maybe too plain.
2. Maggie Sottero Billie – I love that it’s simple with one big, fun element, but I’m worried that it might emphasize my hips too much and I prefer a corset back.
3. Ella Bridals 5618 – Again, one fun accent but it might not be formal enough for our evening hotel wedding.
What do you think bees? Any dress suggestions?

What about adding a beaded/jeweled sash to the first one? I think it’s a very pretty and classy dress and the belt would add a little pop.

@AlwaysSunny: I love all 3, I was actually looking at the first two as well! When you go with a classic dress, you know when you look back in 40 years that it will still be a classic! Lyndzo makes a great point that a sash can be added, I have also seen brides go with a very simple dress and go all out with a crazy beautiful necklace. There are so many ways to dress up a dress. I’ll see if I can find any pics, but come to think of it I think the dress and necklace I am thinking of was strapless.
The second dress has an amazing back! Personally I am not crazy about corset backs (more the look) but I almost got one because you are safer with alterations and any minimal weightloss or gain, but I ended up going with a zip up back. I have also had a few friends with corest backs and mostly heard complaints because of the difficulty getting it on and off.

I love the first one and don’t think it’s too simple at all!

Thanks ladies! I was leaning towards a corset back since I’m not sure when/where I would be able to get it altered. It may be that I only have access to a seamstress several months before the wedding and I’m worried my body may change.
Does anyone else have suggestions?

I just asked my SO and he said he really likes the second one 🙂 I like the off shoulder of the first one ! Its so classic 🙂 With a blingy sash, it would be perfect !

@MamaMegs721: I know! Your dress is gorgeous! I’m not exactly sure but I think I’m around 5’11”. I think I need a 60 inch hollow to hem length from the measurements I’ve taken…

@AlwaysSunny: well shoot…I just dug up my papers and Hollow to Hem is 59″. Good luck on your search!!!!
