Thought I’d pass along a great idea I got from a friend! As soon as she decided wear they were going on their honeymoon, she started keeping a lookout for honeymoon clothes, and when she found something, she bought it and put it away. Then when she went on her honeymoon, she had all brand new clothes to wear! I’m doing the same thing… we knew very early on we would go someplace warm and tropical, so I started buying sundresses etc. before we had even set a date. It worked out really well because I was able to buy stuff on major sale in the fall because it was the end of the summer season. And since I’ve bought stuff over many months, I space out my purchases so I’m not breaking the bank. Can’t wait to wear new stuff on my honeymoon!

That is such a great idea. At the end of the summer and into fall I’m going to do the same thing 🙂 So I’ll have new super cute clothes and I’ll feel good about getting them on sale!

I have been doing this as well. I ended up wearing a couple things, but for the most part everything is stashed in the guestroom closet waiting to be packed next week! I saved money from each paycheck over the course of about 5 months, kept it in cash this way when I shopped I didn’t even have to see it on my credit card bills. I had forgotten how nice it is to shop using cash! The only thing I ended up going over my budget on is a pair of Tory Burch sandals that should be delivered this week and I hope they fit!!

I’ve been doing the same thing! I will probably wear some of my honeymoon clothes before the trip though. My wedding isn’t until August 4th so I will probably want to break out some of my cute new dresses in June and July. I will be saving the new lingerie for the honeymoon as a surprise though!

Yup! That’s exactly what I did. We planned our honeymoon a whole year in advance so I got to buy all the stuff at “end of season” type sales. It was great 🙂

I did this too! I remember Old Navy had all these comfy loose t shirts for five bucks and I kept circling the table thinking they would be great for the honeymoon after beaching it all day!! Then I started on the bags..and shoes…and sundresses…meanwhile he tells me he owns two pairs of shorts and he will be fine…

This is such a smart idea. I was gonna buy some old navy flipflops and hold them but I hadn’t really thought about hitting up end of the season sales. It would have came to me eventually haha but I really want to high five you now. Having a fall wedding is the best! Haha
