@TanTan07:  i wore the dakota by enzoani. Same silhouette. ..i straddled the toilet looking towards the wall lol….i was able to lift my dress enough to do so comfortably (and my dress was very fitted)

Ditto on @alaskin17‘s advice. Grab the bottom of the front of your dress and straddle the toilet so you’re facing the back of the toilet. This way, you won’t have to worry about anything getting wet or whatnot.

Actually, I concentrated really hard on making it the entire time without going to the bathroom, lol. Proud to say I achieved it! I made one bathroom trip and that was just to remove my corset and fix my hair 🙂

Are you going to have a bridal attendant? I was very nervous about this too with my mermaid but my attendant was a huge help. She held the dress up for me so I could get it high enough to sit. Yes it was awkward at first since she was a complete stranger but she couldnt see anything and she had done this before!

We have a bridal suite down the hall from the reception and my dress zips up (only takes 3 minuts to put on) so I will be stripping it off when I need to pee. I hope it’s only once or twice.

I can’t even sit very well in my mermaid dress so I’m really afraid about going to the bathroom.  I have to go to the bathroom a lot when I’m nervous so it will be an interesting day.

I think a zipper on the side might save you a lot of trouble with the laces.

Your dress is beautiful BTW.

@TanTan07:  My MOH/sister came to the bathroom with me, lol. She held my dress up while I peed, haha 🙂 – I plan on returning the favor at her wedding, she was an AMAZING MOH

I hope this isn’t too hard, because my bladder is like a sieve when I’m drinking. I literally pee every 15 minutes… stupid alcohol and your diuretic properties! I’m gonna make my sister or my friend or my mom or someone come with me to help. And do the straddling the toilet backwards thing.

your dress is lovely on you!

I don’t have much experience with this yet, but I’m a sucker for comfort, and that has been very important to me in my dress search.  I personally much prefer having a zipper sewn in to resisting the urge to pee – especially since that can increase the risk of bladder infections – not what you want on your wedding night!

If you can straddle the toilet comfortably, I suppose that’s not a bad way to go either – and I do think an attendant is helpful; even if you don’t have a MOH or BM, a good friend can help.

I had to have someone take me right out of mine.

I think I can manage my mermaid but my venue doesn’t have a handicap stall so I’ll be squeezing in!

Oh dear…this never even occurred to me! Good advice though, I guess I will be straddling away!
