Are you coming to Toronto in the summer? I have a brother in Toronto who we see often and some of our favorite things to do there are the ROM, the Distillery District, the Polson Pier, and biking/hiking in the Don Valley. Some of the restaurants we like are Cafe Nervosa, Fred's Not Here, N'Awlins, Wish, and Amaya. We usually stay at the Drake Hotel.
Also this site may help you plan out your trip: www.toronto.com
Maybe visit centre island. Rent bikes there. Have a picnic!
Depending on what time of year, check out festivals... there are tons of awesome ones!
Go to Kensington Market (FI and I went there on one of our first outings).
Take a stroll in High Park! It is beautiful!
Visit Casa Loma
Some of our fav downtown restaurants are Fran's , Ethiopian House and Cocina Lucero.
I love toronto :P
Thanks for the awesome ideas! I've never been to High Park or Centre Island. We're going in July.

also. If you're into rollercoasters at all, may I suggest Canada's Wonderland?
And if you can swing it, a side trip to Niagara Falls.
Do you know where abouts you want to stay? There are lots of new hotels now, how about the Thompson Hotel on Wellington? This way you're close to all the restaurants and nightlife, close to the exhibition grounds if you want to go see a TFC game, close to the water for a ride to the Island, so so so many things to do!!
@JavaBean: Hello! My finace proposed to me near Toronto and we vacationed there afterwards... We stayed at the Drake Hotel which was INCREDIBLE and super unique. Its unusual and artsy and just plain fun. They had rose petals and champagen awaiting us in our room. We had dinner in the restaurant downstairs and it was TO DIE FOR! You can walk to catch a trolley pretty much anywhere in the city... they loan you ipods for your stay with all sorts of cool new music... you can borrow bikes and haul all around... we took them all the way down to the harbor with picnic lunches packed in teh baskets and trook the ferry over to the island and had a wonderful beach day... I highly reccomend this place is you are looking for something a little bit funky and a little bit cool!!!!!
If you are vacationing here, you HAVE to have a romantic dinner on the 61st floor of the Manulife building patio. The name is the resto is Panorama. You will have to make a reservation to get a view of the famous skyline but it's totally worth it. AMAZING!

My FI and I will be honeymooning on Toronto. Its the first place we travelled to together and its really special to us. We went with family last time and I wasn't really struck on our hotel (I have a peeve with outdated hotels... you know the ones- floral duvets, yellowish or pinkish wood furniture- sorry if that came off a little snobby, I'm really a cheapy at heart but I'm allowed to have an opinion). We also didn't really get to do couple activities so we're not really sure about things we could do there.
So I'm looking for suggestions on places to stay and things to do while on our honeymoon. We will only be there for a couple days but any ideas are welcome! Also, if there are any fab restaurants you love, let me know.
Thanks!
